Question About PVE Servers
So I joined a server that was PVE, but some guy shot up my car at the airport and me and my car both took damage. Is this an oversight, or was the server actually not PVE? I'm leaning more on the side that you can still take damage in cars regardless.

Besides all the points I am going to try to answer your questions since that is the main reason you started this thread for.

YOU CAN take damage in a PVE server from zombies. Technically it's more of players against zombies than actual "PVE" in a way.

As far as I know your vehicle in a PVE server can still take damage from other players and for sure from zombies so be careful!

There might still be some ways players could abuse the "PVE" aspect and for example lure zombies to another player, using the zombies to kill the player. In the past grenades would still damage other players - this is fixed though. If you do encounter any bugs please let us know so that we can fix them.

Also I would like to point out that I DO NOT recommend to join any public PVE server as the owner of the server could always set a password or change the server to PVP when you're on it without you knowing. It's not safe.

Best Regards,

Sven

When you join the server it will say PVE, also in the server list PVE will be bright white. Just because it says PVE in the title, does not mean its PVE.

It was definitely a PVE server, I filtered it and it had the PVE logo lit up. I may get a friend to join a PVE server with me and see if I still take damage in cars.

I think goretekz is trying to hint at the fact that people can change the servers from PvE to PVP since they have admin rights to it due to paying for their own server.

And it all depends on the server rules meaning on some PVE servers players can still kill players.

Look, has anyone tested if you can still get shot up in cars on PVE servers? You're all jumping to conclusions here.

You could show some proof with what your are saying like pictures or videos showing us you are on a PVE server and not a PVP server and can still get your car shot up since you are the one making these claims.

If I joined a PVP server I wouldn't be flaming the forums buddy.

Again proof would be helpful. No one is calling you a lair just want to see if maybe the admin changed it over to PvP server then went back to a PVE server.

Also, saying you are "flaming" the forums about this will just make this thread come off as nothing more than a troll thread and other players will be reluctant to try and help because they might think what you say happened to you didn't actually happen and you just posted this thread to troll for the sake of trolling.
The author of this topic has marked a post as the answer to their question.

See this is why the new developers for this game are doing a much better job than the original developers. You have a chance of one of them actually responding to your thread and not just outright ignoring players or responding to them and basically calling them trolls and possibly banning them from the forums and/or game for trying to point out a problem like the original developers did.

Alright cool, thanks for the reply. Yeah I'll definitely keep a closer eye on players in PVE servers from now on.

I joined a PVE server the other night and started to loot and I see in the chat someone saying "This is not a PVE server" but above that it said "You have just joined a PVE server" and I got shot down...Had a ♥♥♥♥ ton on me also. What could have been the issue?
