Bring Devotion to Steam!
Please bring this back to steam! Who cares about negative reviews? People already know the game is good.

Nor just American companies... CDPR did it too.

Why Devotion won’t be sold on GOG because of Winnie the Pooh

CD Projekt has come under fire after it was announced that DRM-free online games store GOG (originally known as Good Old Games) would not allow the horror game Devotion to be sold on its platform.

I don't see why GOG and Steam are so scared of the CCP after what they have pulled in the past three years. How many games do the CCP even allow them to publish on their platforms on a yearly basis when barely any games outside of China get published? Are they that much of a market when piracy is so rampant there and they have broken copyright laws? Grow some cojones and stop having a foreign unelected dictatorial government tell you how to do business IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY.

I agree with you but this is just capitalism putting-profit-over-people in action. Most corporations including Valve, CDPR, etc. can make more money by currying favor with the ruling class in China than they can by taking a stand for liberty (which most corporations frankly don't even like anyway that leads to uppity workers.)

I think the only way to get a handle on this even in supposedly freedom-loving nations is to make it illegal for organizations which act as either distributors of media or public message boards to censor any content that isn't actually ILLEGAL (beyond age-gating it or attaching a trigger warning and confirmation screen.)

The only exception should be for religious, political or other advocacy organizations which obviously exist to spread a message and therefore have every right to decide to allow only what coincides with their goals. To keep them honest, I would also say that any organization that sells stock, pays dividends, or pays anyone more than $100,000 per year is NOT an advocacy organization and therefore, has to abide by the anti-censorship law.

Obviously this would work better if certain forms of trolling like telling people to commit crimes, unsolicited harassment etc. were already illegal at least to the extent of being permissible to remove from a public message board with an accompanying ban. I think that would actually be a good law.

The Chinese market is becoming less and less relevant, and this is the best thing to happen to gaming and entertainment in past 3 decades. Steam and GOG need to get with the times.

I'm working on it ladies and gentlemen! I'll restart my crusade to bring it back to Steam. I already sent an email to all the possible addresses. Let's hope contact is established.

I would love this game to be on steam. It's an instant buy. Is the platform itself prohibiting this game to be sold? Or is it the decision of the developer?

GoG removed it from sale claiming that they were reacting to "feedback from gamers".
Whatever the reasons for removing it from Steam, it was definitely removed from GoG because that platform embraces political censorship.

I don't think that Red Candle Games understands that Steam has different storefronts in different countries. If they republished it only to the EU and NA storefront, the CCP wouldn't be able to say or do anything. If Red Candle published it to all storefronts except the ones available in China, the CCP wouldn't be able to say or do anything.
