Understandable and equally pathetic. If only it was possible for the game to be published under a different publisher, one that isnt forced to apologize for something so utterly ridiculous on Twitter. Hopefully China will one day learn that having a respectable image and reputation is equally important as being the worlds workshop. Such a waste...

I agree completely.

Like I said: All this is going to do is spark gamer outrage. Better to just replace the texture and put the game back up. It is always going to be known as "that game" now and people have still clamored for the re-release. Bite the bullet, Red Candle.

Well that's a shame. I won't be purchasing any red candle games until they rerelease devotion. Bowing down and kissing the ass of the giant yellow bear is a sick sick shameful act and I will not support it.

It was not the dev's but the publisher

Sigh...I wish i knew about this game sooner... would of purchased it before it was taken down. I said to a twitch streamer who talked about [didn't even know it existed!] and was kinda peeved and sadden it got taken down. There's a ton on controversial stuff in games [even in main streaming games] yet no one bats an eyelash

Way more complicated than just changing a texture (which they tried to do). They lost the ability of publishing or producing anything related to gaming in China, they simply can't work on games anymore. They got even international publishers on their necks seeking damages for the removal.

which is why i bought Detention even when it was not on sale

I do understand why the publisher removed the game though. Even the mighty NBA and Blizzard bow to the regime. The irony is that it is the West that made it so powerful now they are reaping what they sow.

See its not that simple trust me wish it was. But considering its former publisher can no longer do business inside of china. And even now the game is still causing problems for red candle I don't blame them holding off until things blow over fully.

I think they are with a new publisher now mind you is AGM PLAYISM from what I know its a publisher from Japan.

And just to quote myself here a second "It was not the dev's but the publisher" And even then AGM PLAYISM could also say they don't want the game published .That leaves Red Candle in a situation where the fan base wants the game but they don't have the means to self publish. But some of this is speculation

It's to do with the publisher that is in China not the Dev's who are from Taiwan
