(spoilers) What did you write on the tree and what did the tree say at the end?

Dont know if theres gonna be a way to see what users wrote on the tree so i wanted to make a post asking about it!
it feels like a personal experience so i wasnt sure about asking but i am curious...

I wrote on the tree “Sometimes things just happen. The universe doesn’t mean to hurt you.” (or something along that line, i cant recall my first sentence exactly now)

and the tree at the end said "Thank you for making everything right."

Guess this is maybe the reason why I got no message - only an empty tree - the one time I played it through ;)

I'm guessing the pirate message won't be selected, but I'm surprised by the blank. Maybe a bug or network problem?

My guess is that the blank message are lazy people or someone like me trying to speedrun the game and reach the tree with 0 stars ;)

it is funny that those obsolete blank message are still saved in the database and not just directly ditched.

Played the game again and my message was:

'The amount of light that we can bring into the world is equal to the amount of darkness that we can accept and love.'

And what I received:

'Faith is about what you do. It's about aspiring to be better and nobler and kinder than you are. It's about making sacrifices.'

I'd caught onto what was going to happen once I had to write on the tree, hoping I wasn't fed back my own at the end. My message received was: "I am with you, no matter where you are, I will always be with you." Struck me on a personal level. Thanks to whomever that was, first and only time in five years I cried on stream, Lol.

I didn't want to put anything overly sentimental, and I couldn't think of anything clever so I just put "c'est la vie".
The message I got was "I will always love you. I'll be there in your heart, don't forget me".

I wasnt able to type anything oddly, being on the switch. But the message in the end was "Stay Strong." Or something along those lines.

Im going to feel bad for the person who ends up with "Type your message here" on their tree ending.

Just beat the game, just found this from looking up the "database" they mentioned. The message I got was something along the lines of "I love you and I always will love you", which I naturally thought was a set message from Joshua's dad to him.

As for what to write, I'm surprised to hear how many people wrote these uplifting messages, when they were a fox speaking to her kits, kits she found dead after her long search. I saw it as a mother despairing, from having failed to protect her children. All I wrote was "I'm sorry."

What I saw: "You were unforgettable."

What I got was something around the lines, "If you want a happy ending, it depends on when you stop telling the story."

Got: "Its not the destination that defines us, but the journey to that destination. I'll never forget you."

The latter was a fitting one, i thought, thanks to whoever wrote it.
