Max and Chloe truly loved each other.
Rachel was just playing with Chloe, using her and then cheating on her with several people. There's no comparison.
Yeah and there's proof that max and chole love no matter if it's platonic or not is preety much deep.
Like, I never got the impression that Max and Chloe were straight up in love with each other in a romantic sense, but in terms of being best friends for a very long period of time from childhood onward, that they have gone through a lot of rough times when it comes to their friendship, along with what each character goes through on their own and their relations between that and each other, what their actions are towards each other, and not so much common interest I guess I would say that Max and Chloe had more "chemistry."
But in terms of a romantic sense, clearly Rachel and Chloe. Yeah they didn't know each other for nearly as long, had rough patches, some of which never healed, and when it comes to what each character was going through, there wasn't much of a synergy and there were certainly some questionable actions done to each other, but they had some form of love between each other and they had common interests.
Yeah that makes sense!
What? Chloe adores Max, it's super obvious. And Max clearly has a crush on her too, judging from some of her journal entries and lines, even before they get serious.
Hard disagree. Rachel was just using Chloe. She didn't really care about her. It wasn't an equal relationship like Max and Chloe's.
Having adoration towards someone isn't quite the same as loving someone even though there is a little bit of crossover. Adoration is more of a deep respect, admiration, worship, etc... while love is the actual affection, pleasure, interest, wanting attachment, etc... It's true in that it is certainly a possibility, or even factually, that Max has a crush on Chloe, but it 1. doesn't really evolve beyond that(get serious), 2. It's based on player choice unlike Rachel and Chloe(and even then I would argue it doesn't really go anywhere), and 3. what's behind having that "crush?" especially culturally?(which apparently could actually be a pretty big factor and explain a lot of the type of language that they use around each other)
I guess there is that one scene that some believe that Chloe "sleeping" with Max was the game hinting that they perhaps "did something" that night, but this is never explicitly shown, and it's highly improbable and up to speculation
But, but, it was a different type of relationship. Worse? Possibly, but it was indeed "love."(even if it wasn't exactly healthy) Max and Chloe had a "better relationship" sure I won't argue that, but it was a different type of social relationship, or a "different type of love" I would argue.

Chloe clearly backs off if Max tries to kiss her during that dare.
Yeah, cuz she was shocked Max actually did it.
The endings (both) paint quite a different picture, especially their kiss if you choose to sacrifice Chloe (you monster!):

Of course she was shocked, she still had heartache for Rachel. Chloe isn't two-timing anyone lol
And "monster"? The Sacrifice Arcadia Bay ending is dreary, gloomy and depressing. The Sacrifice Chloe ending, on the other hand, is bright, colorful and optimistic.
Sacrificing hundreds, thousands of innocent people in order to save one ungrateful, narcissistic person clearly makes you an immoral monster. No question.

You mean, unlike Rachel who cheated on her with more than one person?
What a terrible take. It's literally foreshadowed in Before the Storm that the Bay ending leads to Max' suicide because she can't cope without Chloe.
You obviously don't know what "narcissistic" means. The only one showing clear signs of narcissism was Rachel. And how was Chloe ungrateful lol? She was super grateful and trusted Max completely in the end. Who else should she have been grateful to? Her abusive step-dad? Her mom, who brought that abusive step-dad into her home? And most of Arcadia Bay was awful, a corrupt town in the pockets of the Prescotts, full of bullies and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. And not sacrificing your best friend/soulmate is not immoral. It's selfish, definitely, but you can't expect Max to actively go back and kill her at this point. Neither choice is immoral and both suck, and I was obviously not being serious when I said the "monster" thing, unlike you apparently.

That's purely theoretical, not canon, and based on a nightmare(s) that could of easily been affected via time travel, or connections to Life is Strange 1 with the bird stuff or otherwise.
