Is the Limited Edition worth it?
Hello guys, I recently had the idea to buy the Limited Edition of LiS: Before the Storm since I finished LiS first season some weeks ago and I enjoyed the game so much that I want to have something physical to remember me about this series and for collection of course.
The problem is that I don't know how much is worth getting it for 40 euros since I'm used to buy digital content more than physical ones... So my question is: do you think it's worth its price for having the original soundtrack and the artbook as well? Or should I stick with Deluxe Edition?
Thank you LiS fans! :2017catheart:

That is not really a question which can be answered by anyone but yourself.

You have to ask yourself if it is worth to you or not, nobody else can make this decision for you.

However, you say that you "want to have something physical to remember me about this series and for collection of course.", so you have answered your question already did you not ?

I would say that as a fan, the physical edition is almost a must have, even though the artbook is very small, minimalistic and hardly comparable with usual artbooks, it is still a nice to have collectible item. Considering the price, you cannot really ask for more though.

If you own the digital version already, you have to ask yourself if the soundtrack, artbook and the game case box which you can use for decoration purposes is worth it to you or not.

Personally, I do not think it is, not if you own the game already, unless you are a die hard fan who is attached to it emotionally.

Basically, you are overpaying 20€ if you own the game already digitally.

If you do not own BtS at all yet, then it is more then just worth the price.

Thank you! Yes I understand what you mean, and since I don't own BtS at all I think I'm going to buy the LE. Let's say I already made up my mind, but I just wanted to be sure that what I find in the LE is worth that price for a collection box because I'm not an expert at all about physical collectables edition and I didn't want to go into something "overpriced", but considering it is LiS and it will support the developers as well I guess it is a good buy after all!

Thanks again for the answer! :2017stickycrab:

You are welcome.

Yes, as a fan you definitely cannot go wrong with it, other games in this price range do not offer a soundtrack or an artbook. The LE of LiS/BtS are basically standard editions of other games.

If you take your time with the game and do not rush through it, meaning you interact with everything, read through the journal etc. then you are looking at approximately 3 hours per episode and another 1 to 2 hours for the bonus episode.

I think that this is more than worth it to be honest.

Anyway, I wish you the best and hope you enjoy the game :)

It's reasonable that the physical editions are more expensive than digital. Don't forget that they include extra physical stuff for collectors, for example in the Vinyl Edition you will get four 7" vinyl records as exclusive for purchase in Square Enix. The limited editions also included Rachel & Chloe figurines as preorder bonus (currently out of stock depending on sellers), the Artbook and the Soundtrack CD. If we think about the cost of all that, shipping, taxes and other commercial margins ... indeed the price is high if you only want the game itself.

About buying or not buying physical limited editions, I think you should answer that question yourself. I bought them for private collecting, and in some way support the LIS / BTS / Farewell game developers and thank them for their great work.
