A ger would be a germanic spear, the meaning of hart would be strong or sturdy. So it could translate into "sturdy spear".
Writing this name in this medival way could also hint, that Sera is from a noble family (an aristrocrate) and therefore Rachel would be, too.
Did't find much to Sera, though, just that it is the name of a town in Hiroshima prefecture and also the name of an tibethian temple. But I doubt, that this has any meaning and is probably just coincidence.
Sera reminds to Seraph, the angels associated with fire...
That makes a lot more sense than my idea! I just read that it means something like "burning one" in hebrew. Interesting...
Edit: Also found that there is a city in Oregon named Gearhart without the "d". Maybe "Sera Gearhardt" is a cover name.
Edit 2: Just checked episode 1 at the overlook: The founder of Arcadia Bay Ezekiel Blackwell left Independence, Missouri with some fellow settlers in the year 1938, march 14th, and arrived at the place that is now known as The Overlook Park in the year 1939, march 3rd.
Now here's the thing: In real life Phillip Gearhart, the guy the city Gearhart is named after today, left Independence, Missouri in the year 1948 with his family and arrived in Oregon City in october of the same year.
Could there be some connection?
Rachel = Rage (sounds completely similar)
Or a german word:
Rachel = Rache ("Rache" means "revenge")
Because sheeps are stupid. Her fate came to the light (Dawn)
We found her and even the 4th episode the day is actually dawn day.
Her fate is in a neutral state. (Amber)
Even when we found informations about her and her destination. Doesn't change the fact that we never met her and we don't know anything about her. Reasons and why etc.
Is like Schrödinger's cat. You don't know what's the truth until you open the box. In the case of Rachel her box will never found. She's a stranger thing. Never met, never know, can't create opinion. Whatever the opinion and the perceptive, the truth is ONE. This person is unknown.
You can't like or hate her.
Although, a lot of the other names have been covered in the original LIS: https://steamcommunity.com/app/319630/discussions/0/541907675760050643/
Chloe Price mention she would like to dye her hair like Priss had in Blade Runner. Always felt that Chloe Price has something in common with poor Priss.
Dont forget that Lis have referance to the movie Donnie Darko. No wonder that there is a character named Damon now.
