Why Rachel has two mothers? I think at the end her dad means Sera gives birth to Rachel, but I can't think of a scenerio fits the plot. What do you guys think?

My theory is, Sera is the real wife of James, but he hides her away cause of her criminal connections (you can see her being part of the gang around Damon Merric.
Also notice her foreign name Gearhardt, so it is possible that James married her outside the US, but hid the fact, cause he is DA.
I also think, that his marriage to Rose is fake and Rose knew about Sera all along. Both James and Rose gain from each other's reputation, since Rose is into politics and running for office, and James is a DA.
This arrangement once might have meant to be temporarily, but turned out to be a more permanent one, with James having a secret marriage to Rachels real mom and a public fake marriage with Rose Amber.

Obvious scenario: Rachel was born out of wedlock. This makes Rose her stepmother, but plays along as her real mother.

I think Rachels father crushed into Rachels real mother, maybe she's still the woman he really loves.
But oviously, she's got issues and due to his position as a DA, he couldn't afford to marry or live with her, since this might be the end of his carreer.

Maybe because of this, he chose an alibi-wife for representation issues in the public, but continued the real relationship with Rachels mom in the hidden.

Maybe Rachels mother in law is also aware of this and was involved in that from the beginning.

Or... provided Mr. Amber didn't lie, Sera was his maitress for sure, and rachel became an "accident", while he was already married to Mrs Amber

Maybe that's why Rachel felt something was wrong in her life. Maybe Rachel kept wondering why her "mum" Rose is always politically-correct. She sees Chloe and she sees authencity - something that's missing in her entire life.

No wonder she lied to Chloe, and will lie even more, I believe, in the next episode to come. But you can't blame Rachel (or can you?), the girl's been living a lie all this time.
