I would like to have "X-ray vision" and see through the plastic, but unfortunately I can't do it. Would like to try in the future, uninstalling my Steam BTS and try that, but right now I do not consider opening it.
I could have an answer soon, I sent a support ticket to Square Enix for another issue and included a question about the game box content of the vinyl edition, if it had some type of code / key / gift and if there was a time limit to use it.
You guys are hilarious, not quite sure if you are joking or serious about it :D
The Vinyl Edition is not any different to the "Limited Edition", besides the Vinyls and the nice presentation box they come with of course.
So your soundtrack, artbook and cd key for steam are inside the "Limited Edition" box.
However, if you want to open it or not is up to you.
Your are over worrying it way to much, it is almost cute.
Let's say that we're curious people and some quite weird.
I'm not that kind of collector who buys something and keeps it untouched and unopened on a shelf for future generations, that's not my style. In fact you can see that in a previous message I posted some links with photos of my vinyl edition items, and I opened everything except the game box. And not for a special reason, only that at the moment I didn't want to uninstall my Steam BTS, but when I decide to do it, I will open it without hesitation.
So if I get your post right, this does not come with a Steam Activation code, but (also) needs to be activated by Disc?
What a pitty, I think I would know a person on Steam that would be glad about a Steam key for this.
Seems that any activation is needed, I got my BTS vinyl edition on Square Enix EU and a while ago I was checking my account. In the bottom side of the vinyl order, there is a button labeled as "Clave de Desbloqueo" (unlock key).
I registered the game, and will not use the Farewell redemption code (I already have in Steam)
Mine is vinyl edition (Europe). The game was into a cardboard box with that contained the typical plastic case for DVD games, the Artbook and the Soundtrack on CD. My previous pictures were only of the game box and its content.
This is the cardboard box content: https://ibb.co/eUULiS
In addition to this, being the vinyl edition, a presentation box was included, with the four 7-inch vinyl records:
- Presentation Box -> https://ibb.co/cjbcV7
- Vinyl box (inside of Presentation Box) - > https://ibb.co/igvROS
- Vinyl box inside sleeve -> https://ibb.co/e9jxV7

... and of course, the figurines: https://ibb.co/mUcUcn
they are starting to like me :)
