See that is the problem with games like this, if they show something in the game they should have you as the person playing the game able to make choices on all aspects. I know it would force the budget for the game way up but games like this that are basically an interactive story NEED to be done so that the player gets to explore all options that are presented in the game storyline. Otherwise if they aren't going to put something in, like the relationship between Samantha and Nathan, then don't show it as something that is happening in the story.
I understand this. For me, I hated that I could not stop Chloe from dyeing THAT part of her hair blue, I would definitely feel better if it was an opinional choice, just like with the beanie found in the truck glovebox.
However, I remember seeing all opinional cinematics on YT one day, where in one, Nathan actually sat under the tree besides Samantha and she did not leave.
Me, I told her to stay the hell away from him. Nathan is a tragic character because if he had got therapy he could likely have been saved, so it's his dad's fault really, but that doesn't change the fact that Sam would only get hurt by him, and possibly even killed. In my opinion, Nathan was beyond the point where Sam could have helped him for real - something more drastic was needed, otherwise you're just turning her into a victim.
But if you really want them to be together for some time, fend off Drew in ep.1 and tell Sam to help this Prescott beatch in ep.2.
Yeah, the thing is though "his dad issues" are his WHOLE problem and if his father would have been less like Nathan and more like a normal father he would have done A LOT more then just get a doctor that prescribes drugs which is ONLY an attempt to gain further control over his son.... he basically paid for a doctor that would just keep his son the way he was but be better controlled with the drugs so he could better control his son and make him into the backstabbing adult that he wanted Nathan to be...
See the whole problem is that Sean Prescott is exactly like Nathan only intelligent enough to know how to hide his "issues" when he needs to, where as Nathan lacks that intelligence and could never evolve into another "Sean Prescott"... He is doomed with a father like that and in fact we really should all feel very sad/sorry for what Nathan's father did to him... :(
