In Season 1 Ep3, whenever you mention about boys or the possibility that they may be into her she literally refuses that idea. When you mentioned if she had relationship with a guy she mentions ''not serious, hella stupid usually. I went through boy toy phase'' or in other scenario she goes like boys are gross. When Max mentions that she can't see her with any guy around there she says ''Because you have a good eye that's why I was so glad that Rachel came along to rescue me'' .. so things in her wallet never been used at this point. She stopped whatever she was doing after Rachel. Lots of people also confusing Mr.Jefferson scene, yet they also missed some detail in here: It was definitely to tease Max since she saw her nervousness; Another detail, if you paid attention their car dialogue at Ep1; when Chloe wanted to hear Max came Arcadia Bay for Chloe, Max blurted out and said she came there for Mark Jefferson. Chloe was also so bitter about it.
In BtS, we've seen her while she was realizing her sexuality more. And as you know Rachel was the first person she fell in love with. We know she grew romantically on her over 3 years.
So I'm not gonna say any certain thing but her interest is definitely leaning towards girls more, that's for sure.
If you are looking for a certain answer... I guess lead-writer Zak G. also said he sees her as 'gay'. He also said your choice doesn't define Chloe's sexuality but what does she voice over there. So you can't change it at all
It is hinted in LiS that she may be at least bi, judging from the things she says about Rachels and some posters in her room, but again, is all up to player to have the last word.
Yeah I totally agree, Love is all that matters and Love is ALL you need, without love life is almost not worth living.
Chloe's more pre-defined than Max and you can't also control her at all in S1. Just because you could control her emotions in BtS doesn't mean those 3 years will not shape in the same way or you can completely change her. Player may choose to not admit her feelings towards Rachel and keep it subtle, but that was only 3 days. Over the course of 3 years we know that, one way or another,Chloe romantically grows on Rachel. With BtS you can't change whatever has implied in S1 at all, especially her character, sexuality etc. since they are already presented.
I understand your point, but you are giving for granted that in LiS Chloe had a romantic feeling for Rachel. That, by the way, is the same way I always intended it myself, so I agree with you. But, as I wrote before, is only hinted, so I still believe is up to the player decided how to interpret her words. One can easily play LiS considering both girls absolutely straight, without forcing any interpretation.
Yeah but it's not forcing interpretation though, you can't 100% change characters' sexuality/character/personality etc etc while this game is also a prequel. I was just saying we can't change whatever was implied/hinted in S1. Characters (especially Chloe) weren't blank-slate too. It's true that Rachel and Chloe's relationship was ambigious from S1 - we didn't know whether if Rachel responded those feelings or if they were ever serious... but Chloe's feelings towards her wasn't that ambigious. Or Chloe's *preference* wasn't that ambigious.
Choice system in BtS was not deciding Chloe's sexuality. From S1 you knew that no matter what Chloe harbors feelings for Rachel. In BtS, the decisions you make just decides whether or not Rachel feels open enough to reciprocate those feelings. That's totally how it works and there is nothing wrong with it. Player may keep it subtle and avoid from admitting feelings, but at the end of the day you are not shaping those ''3 years''. One shouldn't forget that.
