Okay so Nathan wanted to impress Jeffershit, so he kidnapped, drugged, and brought Rachel to the Dark Room. Once she was there Nathan (and probably Jefferbitch too) started taking pictures of her. The very last scene (in Before the Storm) shows Rachel's phone and 17 missed calls from Chloe. Obviously Rachel couldn't answer the phone..
Also, we don't get to see any scenes of Nathan or Jefferson kidnapping her or doing other sick stuff.
What happens:
- Rachel was on Vortex Club party;
- She was drugged;
- She was moved in Dark Room;
- She awake in Dark Room;
- She was moved in junkyard;
- She was buried at junkyard.
Also she was:
- overdosed by drugs to death;
- she die.
But Jefferson never told where and when that exactly happens (for example she die in DR or at junkyard). I think there is no reason to move her at junkyard if she alive but still he didn't say.
It shouldn't be seen for 2 simple reasons:
1. We play the game from Chloe's point of view. Rachel's fate is unknown to her until way later when Max finds the site at the junkyard.
2. It would hella spoil THE major plot point of the original game. With this being a prequel, quite a few people might elect to play this first, without knowing the original game at all. I would be very annoyed to be flatout told what happened to her here if I was a first time player.
The final scene with the dark room tease is more than enough.
THANK YOU!!! people don't realize its a prequel
also they think having everything spoiled to them will make them feel better.. I rather have some misteries ( like Rachel and Frank) and to imagine how it could happen rather than being told
Agreed! I don't mind some exposition, heck I consider it a miracle this prequel was made at all. Seeing how Rachel and Chloe met and developed adds tons of emotional weight to the original game. My impression after the full release of the first game was that a sequel was gonna be next with all new characters though.
I'd like to think that the huge popularity of LIS' original characters led to this game, which I'm very grateful for. A sequel with all new ones though? We will see if they catch the creative lightning twice. I'm gonna get regardless though!
