Who was the bigger figure in Chloe's life? Max or Rachel?

Taking both narratives from LiS and BtS, whom do you think Chloe would say played a bigger role in her life?

Yes, the question gets kind of dicey when you consider the time manipulation, but let's ignore that.

Max without a doubt. They shared the first 14 years of their life together, even when Max is gone and rarely reacts to the messages from Chloe, Chloe still writes about her regularly in her diary.
Also when Max returns it takes exactly three days with her for Chloe to change her Rachel wallpaper on her phone to Max. (depending on your decisions of course).

And even at the end, when Max potentially sacrificed a whole town for her, including people and family Chloe known for years, her first words are " i will be forever with you Max".

There is no doubt in my mind that Max was, is and always will be the Nr 1 in Chloes mind.
Rachel was a nice substitute for a while when Chloe was lonely but that´s about it.

I would say Max too, even if the 3 years with Rachel were probably the most important for Chloe. But Rachel filled the void left by Max.

Then, of course, it also depends on which is your canon ending of LiS. if you sacrifice Chloe, she said that she would reach Rachel, so basically Chloe herself is saying that her place is with Rachel, not Max[\spoiler]

Max of course. She was involved with Max for many years since childhood, then a couple of years off when Max went away, then when she returned they went through the life-changing events in LiS. We have only really seen Chloe with Rachel for a few days at this point and we don't know what happened between BtS and LiS, but I would definitely say Max.

Only happens when you support Chloe in all decisions up to that point.
So, take the blame for the joint, dont answer Kate´s call in the diner, try to shoot Frank and steal the money.
If you do all that and pick up Chloe´s phone the morning after they broke into the school she has changed the wallpaper to Max.
Otherwise its still Rachel.

Ok, did all that, except for Kate's call and the money. I answered her call (of course) and don't take the money. I mean, come on. The money was for a good cause. At this time i couldn't know, that he wasn't using it for that^^

Yeah you have to support her 100% for her to change the wallpaper. If you think about it, that is what Chloe was always looking for, someone who is on her side unconditional, who does not judge her and just offers support, no matter what.

Yeah, but it doesn't change the story. It's a nice detail, but Chloe's and Max's relationship is improving, regardless of these choices. And that's a wonderful thing. I think i have to replay LiS soon ;)

Yes, i remember. It was really sad :) But answering Kate's call is nevertheless the right choice for me, because it was pretty clear to me from the beginning, that Kate has serious problems and is suicidal. And i didn't wanted to be her "trigger" :)

Sure the first time i played most scenes like its morally "right" to do. Answered Kate´s call , did not steal the money and such.
But its nice to try things like this in a replay. And you can still save Kate even if you dont answer the call as long as you support her in the other scenes. (help her with David, tell her to go to the police).
A unconditional " i support Chloe , no matter what" playthrough is pretty fun.
Also i always enjoy friendzoning Warren as hard as possible. :P

In BtS, Max is everywhere in Chloe's mind, diary, rage...
In LiS... where is Rachel? In BtS they're almost lovers, but there are more references to Rachel in the leaflets than in Chloe's dialogues.

The relationship with Rachel should be an obsession in LiS, but it isn't. She replaces Rachel easily.

Rachel had the biggest influence on the way chole was besides the death of her father. Max however brought out Chole true purpose that even she wasnt aware of. That purpose was sacrifice. Throughout the story Chole kinda has to lean on everyone so by the end of LiS she realizes what must happen and finally steps up to the plate and becomes the hero...atleast in my ending.
