I think it was stated that Drew was going to another college and was leaving i liked his small story ark short sweet. We that he was a ass but actucally wasnt. Steph problably stayed at blackwell but she wouldnt know Max, she would just bleed away to being just another namless face in the first game.
And Elliot was just a creeper we all thought was normal at first but really wasnt and gets expelled.
As for Chloe calling her parents.....i think we would all do that in real life. In game that would of worked probably really well having them show up. but the Ambers are more important storywise.
To me neigher Frank, nor Rachels parents are important at this point. If you hide the truth, their attitude towards Chloe does not change from the point on, when Chloe has brought Rachel into the hospital. Her dad is glad Chloe was there to save his daughters life and Rose tells Chloe, that sometimes 2 people (Chloe and Rachel) are just right for each other, even if they don't know each other long.
It would be another thing, if you tell Rachel the truth. But tbh, I really would not want to be part of that awkward conversation between Chloe and Rachels parents, since Chloe just destroyed their family in their eyes. We can see the reactions in the endscene, nothing more is needed there.
The episode has a final talk with David, the moment where you eigher take his picture or refuse the offer. David does nothing else from this point on, so the relation is setteled with this decision.
The one plotline I feel feel was unanswered was the relation between Nathan and Samantha, especially because in the end credits we have them on a totally different state of mind than the last time we saw them (the end of episode 2). I think, something was planned to happen but got cut.
I don't feel, those questions got left unanswered for the most part.
Damon ends up dead. In this ending, he might also have been disarmed and scared away by Frank, but in LIS it is mentioned, that he is not alive anymore.
Depending on if Eliot gets caught by the police or manages to escape, he eigher gets expelled from Blackwell or ends up heartbroken over Chloe and destoying his picture of him and her at the concert. Eigher way both won't stay in touch.
Since Sera got injected again, the way addiction works is, that her progress she has made in rehap is likely to be undone, That is why she wants to disappear. However, you can convince her to meet up with Rachel and if you do, the ending will show Rachel hugging her birth mom.
With Rachels Dad it also depends, if you lie to Rachel or not. If you lie, then Rachel told you, how she feels about her dad. She is mad at him, but it felt so good to be able to lean on him. He makes her feel save. There is no need to reapeat that at the end, since nothing would have happen to change Rachels mind in that case. If you tell Rachel the truth, you just have to take a look on her face to know everything. In that case, too, there is no need to put that into words.
The only thing a bit odd is, in both cases she won't leave home immediately, since in the ending we can see Rachel and Chloe in Rachels room. However, at one point we know from LIS, she will move to the dorms.
Frank helps Chloe, since he is unhappy about what Damon is willing to do. He told Chloe in the RV in Episode 2, that he don't like what Damon is doing, we see in EP 3 in the junkyard as well, that Damon takes things fürther than Frank is able to justify. Frank is a dealer, not a murderer or a kidnapper. I disagree, that Frank has no problems killing. The way Frank is shown he tries to avoid violence and only attacks, if not avoidable. I don't think that he attacked Damon with the aim to kill him, it might as well have been self defense. Notice, that he doesn'T throw away his photo of Damon, showing, Frank regrets how things with Damon went down.
Why do you think, everyone knew, Rachel was stabbed? The game never claimed, that everyone knew. We know, that Rachels parents got allerted, since they show up in the hospital. Steph only knows Rachel is there, since she already was in the hospital and talked to Rose. But it would be Chloe telling Steph, Drew and Mickey, what happened, they didn't know before. Eliot doesn't know as well, he shows up to visit Drew or Mickey (depending on who got injured).
In real life, you could argue, since someone got stabbed, hospital staff would be required to report to the police and Chloe should have been interrogated by officers, who would tell Joyce. But I am happy to forgive this, because this would have been in the way of story development. Also since Rachels dad is the DA, there would also be an explanation why the police was not involved, since the staff might have expected, the DA will take care of possible charges. James on the other hand has his own reasons not to go official with the attack, as we learn in the story later.
So it is plausible, that Chloe's mom never got to know that Chloe brought Rachel to the hospital, especially since Chloe was not treated herself.
The ending does not exactly cover every moment between the end of BTS and LIS. I don't think it has to It however gives quite a good state of mind of everyone at the evening of the 3rd day of Chloe and Rachel meeting. I don't feel like mayor plotlines are left unanswered. The biggest unanswered question is, when choosing to tell Rachel the truth, if the realationship between Rachel and James is mendet somehow or if it escalates. Beside from that, my questions are answered.
Yes, in real life it would have gone down different, but this is not too far fetched that I would not be able to forgive this. This game had bigger issues where we had to accept things, that would have been different in real life, like.
- Chloe being able to influence people in her favour by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
- being late for school, but still have time not just for a cigarette, but to stroll around and talk to the whole campus, including a 20 minutes roleplay session.
- having a director who is willing to get into a serious argument over a student sitting on a stage
- Chloe getting expelled for ditching school (instead of being brough to school by police/ streetworker every day, since this is what would have happened, until Chloe got transferred to a bording school)
- Chloe having all the time in the world to redecorrate the bathroom with securty waiting outside
- Chloe getting expelled in front of a different family (the Ambers)
- Samuel ignoring the fact, that the sprinklers got violently damaged with only 3 suspects around.
- Chloe not getting in trouble for writing in fresh cement or writing on the DA's desk. It is even hard to believe, that Chloe would do some of the graffity in situations, where she knows, even if not seen doing it she still would get blaimed for it.
- Chloe being able to fix up a truck that bad in shape
- Rachel and Chloe not getting injured by jumping out of a moving train (even if moving slowly jumping off would still be hard to do especially if getting thrown out of the train).
There are tons of things that are written badly, when judged by reality aspect. But this is not only true for Before the storm. LIS also has a ton of unrealistic scenes as well, you could complain about. So why is it, that this one aspcet, that police was not informed yet, is breaking the deal for you?
I do agree and I really DO wish developers in this genre would take their stories to a more serious level however that doesn't seem to be happening any time soon...
To me the hospital scene was not breaking the mood. The worst scene in the whole prequels would have been in Episode 1, stealing the wine from the couple, since that scene really took me out of it with how stupid it was. And still I at least enjoyed that in Episode 3 we kinda got closure with the short scene of the couple in the hospital. It had a nice touch there.
