I understand your choice completely. To be honest i was thinking like that for the first second, but then i thought:
- Rachel will be killed no matter what, its better for her to know the truth, than getting killed without knowing the truth.
That's pure my opinion tho... I know its not perfect, like i completely killed James position as Rachel's father here...

It may be stupid and "uncanonical", whatever "canon" really menas in a universe like LiS and BtS. But sometimes even stupidity can be nice. ;)
