I've played this game with the Steam controller just because i hated to see WASD in a point & click game lol.
Also, you can ask for a refund i guess it works if you can't adapt.
also you don't have to hold 2 buttons
With life is strange season 1 , i was stuck about how to interact with enviroment :S and that was very hard and quite annoying
and again with before the storm i hate that new style of selecting things but i got used to it!
give it a try and you will get used to it! :S

I can see what you're saying, both from your first post and your video.
I've thought of something which might help, but really I am just guessing so here goes:
Is there another/spare button/selection/key which could be configured to toggle holding down the mouse button?
Appreciate that would still be a lot more hassle than click-drag but I was thinking something like a customised config (if possible) for the game in your accessibility equipment?
For example a key not used in the game (such as Q or F) set to toggle holding down the mouse button?
So something like Q-W-Q to choose the option you'd select with the W key: Q toggle mouse button on, W selects the option, Q toggle mouse button off. Unfortunately the "Backtalk" challenges are timed, which could be an issue with that suggestion - you only get a short time to choose whatever answer Chloe comes out with.
TBH I could be talking rubbish as I don't know your equipment but I'm just thinking aloud incase it helps.
I really hope something works out and you're able to play it.
So some kind of remapping to an input method that works for you should not be impossible.
i'm trying to find a way to configure the commands like on first game.
It's also a huge improvement to the original that people are underappreciating.
On LIS, you're forced to hold down the mouse, then drag that to the option you want. It doesn't always stick without a learning curve. It's clumsy.
In BTS, much better. It doesn't require the clickiing and dragging, so whatever you think you're doing is not going to match the keystrokes. All you have to do is just look at the thing, then press the corresponding button. Imagine dealing with this LIS style, during the timed backtalk. It would be worse for missing the pointer direction, or choosing the undesired option. It cuts the middle man of the concept of dragging to your option, something that frustrated new users at the time.
Then there's a matter of why was it "changed". Well, its fairly obvious: new game, different engine, different development team. You can't expect the entire project to be identical to the first, and not address certain shortcomings from the original.
I notices a strange bug, when I open/start LiS: BtS. I can move with ESDF, but I cant not choice any interaction with my new key config ESDF.
However if i rebind them back to WASD and walk a little around and then rebind them back ESDF then I can make interaction with ESDF.
Just a strange odd bug.
