We do not know if David or Kate dies. If they were alive then Max and Chloe would went to save Joyce but they didn't as Max already knows they are dead.
2. In the Bae ending Two Whale looks pretty trashed, but there are no signs of charred ground or anything that you'd expect from the aftermath of an explosion.
There is no proof towards your side. If it was true then wouldn't everyone chose that ending?
