Why doesn't chloe life in one of the dorms ?

Hello :D ye uhm, i mean Chloe goes to blackwell until episode 2 of LiS BtS but she always goes home after school. i think it might be because she lifes near the school but the game tells you that Chloe knows eliot since they were kids and eliot lifes in a dorm, that means eliot lifes in Arcadia Bay. So someone got an idea why chloe does not life in a dorm ? maybe cuz of the financial situation, chloe cant stay in a dorm ? idk

She makes a reference in the dorms to only seniors living in the dorms, which seemed odd to me given that we see rooms for several students we know are still attending Blackwell 3 years later.

A better explanation in my mind is that the dorms are only used by students who come in from out of town and have no place to stay locally. Certainly if it's an option Joyce would choose for Chloe to not use the dorms, since I'm sure it costs too much.

Honestly I think they should just retcon Blackwell to a 4 year private prep school that allows some locals to attend on scholorships. That would solve all the problems they have trying to untangle the various inconsistencies. I know they're trying not to mess with canon more than they have to, but in my mind, on this issue, it would be easier just to own the original mistake and retcon a solution.

Maybe it costs more to stay there , they can barely afford paying her school or its a choice if she wants to live there or not , she hates Blackwell so I don't think she wants live in it

The thing is though in the other timeline where Chloe was in a wheelchair she was a straight A student, Max can find her report card in her room if you look for it. Also before her father died even in the timeline she is in now she had much better grades at school and even liked school but all of that changed after her dad died and Max moved away.

A college in my city operates like this. It has rooms but they are for students who live in another city.

Also, keep in mind that Blackwell it's changing the way it opertes. Remember how it was a seniors only school in the first season and in BTS is a regular school?

I don't think any of the kids going to Blackwell in BtS are any less grade then grade 8 though and likely not less then grade 10.

Those dorms look pretty awful. If she lives nearby anyway I don't see why she would want to live in the dorms.

I think it has to do with the fact, that Chloe's scolarship doesn't cover for everything, while Eliot is on a full ride. It might be, that only seniors can use the dorm for free, everybody else has to pay, that's why she said, she'd never been a senior anyways.

But it is sugguested, that Chloe lives in the outskirts of Arcadia Bay, since she was "missing" the school bus, was therefore already late, when David brought her to school today, and still had half an hour (smoking break plus DnD game) before lessons started. If she was living nearby, this would have been enough time to get there on a bike, wouldn't it? Therefore living there could have been nice für Chloe as well, if she could have afforded it.

If it was because of money, why don't Nathan and Rachel live in the dorms yet?

Btw: if Nathan doesn't live in the dorm yet, why was he shown sitting on the spring at night , after the end of EP1?

And Rachel lived in the dorm too in LiS
