[Spoilers] Rachel and Chloe
I started a former thread on this, but then rethought it a bit, and wanted to see if I could gather some more data.

It seems that Chloe's relationship with Rachel is not determined only by the choice you make in the junkyard scene. The other factor seems to be Rachel's feelings for Chloe, which can vary based on other decisions you've made in the game. Rachel may want to be just friends, or may also want more, leading to 4 variable dialogs in the junkyard scene. (And probably different conversations at the end of the episode as well, although I have not gathered those yet.)

Anyway, the possible variations are:
  • Both Chloe and Rachel want to be just friends.
  • Chloe wants more, but Rachel wants to be just friends.
  • Chloe wants to be just friends, but Rachel wants more.
  • Both Chloe and Rachel want to be more.
So what I am trying to determine is what decisions have an effect on Rachel's feelings, since Chloe's are obviously controlled by the player.

Update: After further research, it seems the dialog variations depend on whether or not you flirt with Rachel on the train. That seems to be the only decision that makes a difference here, and I have updated the next post accordingly. If anyone finds something that contradicts this assessment, I'd love to hear it, as there may yet be other options that matter.

Second update: A supplied video below seems to indicate the face touching is not directly linked (or at least not the only link) to the face touching bit. That must be controlled some other option.

So here are the decisions I believe may have an effect on Rachel's feelings based on my own play throughs.
  • Did you turn down Eliot when he asked you to the play?
  • Did you tell Rachel you believe in love?
  • Did you share earbuds with Rachel?
  • Did you jump from the train?
My working theory is that if you answered positively to 3 out of the above 4 qustions, Rachel wants to be more than friends. If you answer no to two or more, she only wants to be friends. That said, I have a limited amount of data, and gathering more is difficult without the abilit to restart the game from a specific scene. If anyone else is interested and lists their choices, I'll add them into my data and see if I can confirm or refine the data. Or if you have theories on other decisions that may or may not impact the scene, I would be interested in those as well.

Here are the four conversations that can take place in the Junkyard based on your decision and Rachel's feelings. I've covered them in spoiler tags in case anyone prefers to see the exact wording themselves for the first time in game.

You do not flirt with Rachel and choose "Friendship".
Chloe: A real friendship.
Rachel: I thought Chloe Price doesn't need friends.
Chloe: I thought so too before today. I guess it's easier to be alone if you decide it's a choice. I'm sorry for whatever I did... or didn't do. Today was the best day I've had since... ...since my dad died. And I screwed it up somehow. Like I screw everything up. Cause I'm a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ screw up.
Rachel: Chloe...
Chloe: Please. I don't want to be alone anymore.
Rachel: I'm sorry Chloe. I can't say why, and I know it isn't fair. But I can't be your friend right now.
Chloe: Can't, or don't want to?
Rachel: Does it matter? I'm really sorry. Goodbye, Chloe.

You did not flirt with Rachel and choose "Something More"
Chloe: I mean ... ♥♥♥♥. Are you actually going to make me say it?
Rachel: Say what?
Chloe: You know. Like, a friendship. But... more.
Rachel: Ah...
Chloe: I know. Weird, right? It's just, today was been the best day I've had since... ...since my dad died. And when I almost ruined it just now, they way I ruin everything, it made me realize... whatever's going on between us is special. Come on, say something.
Rachel: Chloe I... I...
Chloe: You know what? Forget it. This was really stupid. I mean, you're Racehl Amber and I'm Chloe Price.
Rachel: It's not that. It's just hard right now, and I can't talk about it.
Chloe: Why not?
Rachel: Because I can't. I know it isn't fair. But it's how it is. Goodbye Chloe.

You flirted with Rachel and choose "Friendship".
Chloe: A real friendship.
Rachel: Oh, is that all?
Chloe: I mean, I don't know. Yet. But I want to find out.

Rachel: Chloe, I'm sorry. I'm really, really, sorry. But... I can't. I can't. Even though I want to.
Chloe: Why not?
Rachel: Because I can't. I know it isn't fair. But it's how it is. Goodbye Chloe.

Other notes:
Another variation in the scene is in whether or not Rachel reaches out to touch Chloe's face, or maintains her distance during the conversation. This seems related to your choices somehow, but may not be related to flirting.

If you flirted with Rachel, she reaches out and touches Chloe's face during the conversation no matter what Chloe's decision is. If you did not, she maintains her distance during the conversation.

The hardest part is i dont know witch one to pick if my ultimate goal is pricefield

Determining what the eventual outcomes are is the goal, although that's unlikely to be set until all three episodes are out.

If you have what choices you made, and what they conversation outcome was, I'll add it to me data and see where it leads.

Well i was only friendly to Rachel and i kinda liked it better. The dialogue was way smoother

Alright, on further gameplay I think my original assumption was wrong. The way the dialog plays out in the junkyard does not seem dependent on any of the choices I mentioned, but rather on one specific choice while you are on the train.

If you choose "Flirt" when Rachel proposes you do something fun, she assumes you want "Something More" in the junkyard. (And you get teh "booty" line if you tell her you want to be a pirate.)

If you take the other option, she will assume you want a "Friendship" instead. If you choice in the junkyard doesn't match her expectation you get the alternate dialog.

I'm going to update the original two posts with this observation.

I should add that it is possible that other choices come into play as well, but if they do I have not noticed them yet. Every other choice that I can think of that would affect it I've tried both ways without changing it, but it's still possible I missed something. If anyone has had different results, let me know.

You understand the game friend. Pricefield forever!!

Is the fact Rachel having or not feelings for you.. And the fact you decide to tell her friendship or more than friendship... Have an impact on what Rachel tells you under the tree when she admits you are a badass for admitting your feelings?

We should try all case scenario but would take a very long time. We would need a flow chart and get to share the work.

But as you said, we only 3 saves, will be hell of a pain to test everything. We are not even sure what really matters for this.

I haven't played the fourth scenario (Flirt and Friendship) through to the tree yet, but I did not notice any difference in final dialog between the two scenarios where you chose "More". In both cases, the end dialog played out exactly the same.

I have the fourth scenario on my most recent save from last night, but had to call it quits last night while I was smashing up th ejunkyard. I'll finish it out tonight, but I don't expect it to be different at this point. (Then again, the game has surprised me more than once.)

Ultimately, though, I don't think where their relationship ends up can be determined until we have the last two episodes out. It's quite possible other decisions in this episode will affect things in the other two.

Have you seen this already? I hope the link is correct and works.
It seems to me that flirting is not the only option that leads to Rachel assuming you want something more than a friendship.
In one of the scenarios she isn´t touching Chloe´s face and still expects a romantic confession...

Hmm... it does seem the face touching thing is not related to the flirting. I'll have to check my saves. I'm fairly certain the assumption that it relates to Nathan is false, though, as I'm pretty sure I defended Nathan in all four of those playthroughs.

It´s really tricky. I´ll try a few different things as well, wanna crack this. :D

What would matter is that somewhere, you keep track of what you tried so we can try different things. Main problem is: a certain consequence like Rachel touching Chloe's face can be the result of many decisions and we dont know yet whick one exactly. It'll take forever to figure out even if the game is only 3h long.

Is it like in LiS where important decisions that will affect the game are marked on top of screen and all the other decisions arent? If yes, starting by listing all actions who affect game is the start. Then make a tree chart and make multiple playthrougth until we find a pattern.

Because thinkin about it guys, more actions could help you impress Rachel. At very end, she names a few like atracking guy in the mill and stuff like this. Could Rachel like you more depending on how badass you react to those situations? Like jumping from train aswell? Or succeeding at steal the wine makes her attitude more friendly to me aswell.

The attack at mill leaves you with a black eye that Rachel can cover with makeup and it could be another action considered relationship (physical contact between the 2)

Ok, after playing through the episode one more time:
I didn´t flirt at Rachel on the train, told her that I don´t wanna play her game and that her "lie detector skills" are creepy. She still thought I wanted something more than a friendship, but again she didn´t touch Chloe´s face.
I did tell her I believe in true love and gave the belt to her instead of throwing it over. I had her cover up Chloe´s black eye and didn´t cheat during the "two truths, one lie" game (I went with "I am in a band.", "Country music makes me throw up." and "I wanted to be a pirate when I was a kid."). I told her that I trusted her, shared earbuds and jumped off the train when she asked me to. I didn´t agree on getting drunk but took a sip from the bottle when she offered it to Chloe. In the junkyard I went with "leave her be", "I don´t understand" and "give her a show".

You decide what is canon, I guess.
Prinegon Sep 14, 2017 @ 9:56am
Since she is talking about how badass you are, its probably your behaviozlur at those scenes that determine friendship or love:
- do you backtalk the bouncer or sneak in?
-do you attack the thugd or get rescued?
-do you hrlp Nathan or let him be bullied?
-do you flirt in the train or not?

Like in LIS where Chloe kisses you if you pass 3 Out of 4 Chloetests, I expect that you also have to pass 3 out of 4.
I didn't test it out yet, though
