How to gift the DLC to a friend?

My friend owns this game, but not the DLC.
I don't own this game yet.
When I go to the store page for the DLC, it tells me that it requires the base game (which is correct, of course)
However, I don't want to buy the DLC for myself, but for my friend, and I don't see a button for that anywhere on the store page.
Is it not possible to gift DLC..?

I think if you buy it as a gift and send it to him, it will have a discount. But i would look in to it first before doing anything because im not completely sure

Hey there!
Unfortunately, that is also not possible. The "Buy as gift" button is disabled and it says buying the bundle as a gift is not possible, because it would be personalised for the steam account!

Unfortunately, that is also not possible. The "Buy as gift" button is disabled and it says buying the bundle as a gift is not possible, because it would be personalised for the steam account!

Ooh right. That means that unless the DLC becomes available as a seperate purchase, your friend will have to get the bundle himself.

Something that you can do is donate him some money on his steam wallet so that he can buy the bundle with that

It's not exactly how I had it planned, because it was meant to be sent directly as a surprise. But it will do!

It is frustrating for sure. Is this problem typical for bundles?

I figured this would change post release when it wouldn't let me gift the preorder bundle.

I do have the same problem right now. My girlfriend recently bought Life is Strange AND Before the Storm. I wanted to gift her the "Deluxe Edition Upgrade" but I can't do so. Steam only lets me gift the whole game, but not the DLC separately.
