Way too difficult on "Player" setting
I can't even imagine what tour is like. Been playing golf games since Tiger '03. Nearly impossible to hit a straight shot. Player should be the Tour difficulty and middle ground between standard and player imo.

TGC definitely requires alot of practice. If you keep at it, you will definitely improve.

You must either be terrible at playing games, or your controller is dodgy and not providing correct feedback to the game. I'm playing on tour and have been shooting rounds in the low 80's on hard courses, so it feels appropriately difficult.

It just feels... off. Maybe it is my controller and the difficulty is too sensitive. Maybe a deadzone setting would help me correct that issue. Been using the same XB360 controller for golf games since XB360 released.

its very difficult.

just off the fairway in light rough. Top right corner shows 71%-91%. Should be 95%-115% in case you catch a flyer.

The first controller I tried was my old wired Logitech controller. I had a problem where I could not for the life of me get a Fast downswing. The only thing I could get was a Perfect downswing, but only if I pushed it as fast as I could. This made chipping basically impossible. I then switched to my newer wireless Logitech controller, and now I can hit Fast downswings. So the issue might very well be controller related.
don't know if this helps but i was advised to bring my golf clubs settings to standard ( was on tour ) and now iseem to hit the ball a lot straighter though i have lost a bit of distance

That's what you sacrifice for having easier club setting. With the harder club settings you gain max distance. It's a trade off so find which club works for you! (I use player)

Do you guys know if there is any documentation somewhere about the differences between the different sets of clubs? I was doing well with a xbox gamepad on the default set, but when I switched to Pro it was so difficult that I had to play with a mouse. It's like the joystick is way too sensitive to get an accurate vertical straight line.

I really like that concept. However, golf is a game of accuracy ultimately. Not sure on the difference in distance for the difficulties, going to test some more, but unless i'm getting 300+ drives then the accuracy I give up from going from standard to player is not worth it.

I REALLY enjoy the concept and I will practise more with it, I just feel it might need some tweaking in the long run. But thank you for the timely responses!

Was finding it literally impossible to get a 'perfect' downswing on both Player and Tour, switched out my wired 360 controller for a PS4 controller via usb and now suddenly every swing is perfect. Either my controller (and likely yours) is wonky or there is some weird input issues.

I'm playing on "Tour" with mouse and i'm making perfect swings 70 percent of the time and thats just about 2 hours of playing the game.

i use a board and mouse and even when it sayd perfic it will still vear left and right at a whim on tour clubs

Yeah, again, I love the concept. But for 20 yards i'd rather give them up and be dead center. I don't mind a challenge if everyone is locked to a certain set for a tournament, that would be great to add that option. But for getting the best score possible, standard is what to use. 100% of the time.

DarkFOOT yes i know, you're playing "Tour" level you can still have perfect backswing and follow though and still hit it a bit left or right if your path isn't right on, thats how its suppose to be...hitting a perfect shot will sorta be rare like in real golf, you have to work with what you did.
CT_Legacy Jun 28, 2017 @ 10:43pm
And that's a great way to play if you want the biggest challenge, however, each player can choose their own difficulty level, and if you had to put your credits on the line in a tournament, would you use tour and come in last? or use standard and have at least a small chance?
