Brilliant Shadows - Part 1 of the Book of Gray Magic
Pale Spectrum is the sequel to Brilliant Shadows.
While you can still play an appreciate Pale Spectrum without having played the first game, you'd likely get more enjoyment from the story by playing through the first part.

Are conseqvences from the previous game carry through? Or only if you got the "lost in shadow" ending?

There is a canonical ending, and we actually have an alternative story for "Lost in shadow".
