Unable to aim the ball?
So, it's certainly possible that I'm just doing something wrong here, because I was never that good at these brick-breaker games. :) That said, it seems like you can't aim the ball with the paddle. In other words, I'd expect that if you hit the ball with the right side of your paddle, it comes off at a right angle (the further to the edge you hit it, the more angle you get). It seems that the ball always bounces off the paddle at the "normal reflection" angle that the basic physics would dictate...which is good from a pure physics standpoint, but not really what I'm expecting when playing a brick-breaker game.

Is this just me?

As opposed to /some/ other breakout games that give the ball an absolute value based on where it hits, the game seems to make it relative to what velocity the ball comes off at as well and adds to that.
The additional velocity is there, and the course of the ball is changed by your paddle's location, but it won't completely change it's course. (If the ball is coming acutely from right side it's not really possible to send it back at the same angle)
