Is there a way to start a new campaign without the tutorial ?
I wanted to start a new game only to learn i had to go through the entire tutorial again
Thats just a terrible design issue as far as i am concerned , did i miss a checkbox i can de-select to start after the tutorial ?

... No, you didn't miss a checkbox. You did miss something a bit more obvious, though. If you have gone through the tutorial once (just once) and you go back to start a new game, you can start with the initial province already captured aka the Tutorial completed.

It even states as much with the tooltip.

That's assuming you even need to complete the tutorial, ofc, and can't just immediately quit and start a new game while skipping the tutorial. I enjoyed the tutorial enough that I wasn't fussed to check.

If you have a save file in your saves folder, the main menu should offer you an option to start a new campaign skipping tutorial.

AFAIK the fastest way of getting there from 0 is to complete the first tutorial battle, save on the world map and quit to main menu.

Where exactly is this obvious choice located ?

When you start a new game you have the option for "New Campaign" which includes the tutorial. Or "Quick Start' which basically gives you the 1st province for free and starts you off more or less after the tutorial section.

Thank you for the kind visualisation, Satoru.

It's really weird how many people are having problems with the tutorial, though. Even if you quit mid-tutorial it should create the save file that triggers Quick Start, so the option should be pretty apparent the second you start a second New Game.

Maybe they're people who did the tutorial pre-release and didn't have their saves carry over or something. Or, I suppose, it could be some sort of bug.

You don't have to finish the tutorial to unlock this. I tried to restart mid tutorial and it was there.

If player deleted all saves - he cant start quickplay. it's stupid that the game doesn't keep this info like yes, player passed turtorial and can start quickplay
Yeah but why would you delete your saves and then be upset that the game treats you as if you're a completely new player who needs to go through the tutorial?

thats actually not how it works in alot of other games ,there is no dependancy on a save file
I games that force you to go through the tutorial once ,there usually is a flag set somewhere that tells the game there is no need to replay the tutorial or give you the option to start without a tutorial (im talking about your response to the guy above , i get there is an option in this game as well now but it was not clear at first)
