They will always just have one tank
Using it with 3 rep (I think, it says 3 on the screen, but sometimes it says 4 elsewhere, <shrug>), it was adding +75 pts to my capability assessment at the start of a battle, and usually dropped in a decent mech and 2-3 more tanks.
Pro tip: quickly sweep the timeline in turn 2 to check where they're landing, and *make sure you don't have any mechs standing there or passing through the space*. And that's the story of how my slow shotgun heavy was late to the battle after getting crashed by a flying tank smacking it on the shoulder >.<
...but I am the support. I'm on my way to support the one tank their dumb asses sent into battle alone.
I can see why they lost the country the first time around.
AFAIK calling for Homeguard help always gives 3 units. I don't use it all that often, but I've only seen it drop in 3, never 4.
Showing up to help the Homeguard, though, means you are helping one (1) lone tank. It's always a tank.
What makes even less sense is when you call for Homeguard help while in a Homeguard fight - they're more than happy to send even more dudes to help you help them, but they couldn't deploy those extra dudes to begin with?
