Custom Potraits?

I saw a few mods that had cool 2D potraits. Can you still use them in the release version of the game?

Saw some mods on the Nexus, if this game will have resurgence of modding i will definetly buy it. Right now, while I think gameplay looks very unique, game definetly lacks beautiful picture to look at and/or distinctive artstyle.
At the very least things like custom portraits for sure must be in the game

Well, I downloaded one of them and activated it, but seeems to be no way that they work in the current version sadly

They disabled 2d portraits in favor of their 3D ones, and as far as i can tell nobody has found a way to diasble the 3D ones and go back to the 2D. The devs even stated they wont be going back to 2D ones.

2D portrait loading and modding has been a really frequent request. So we're looking at how hard it would be to support both systems going forward.

I'm looking forward to seeing if y'all can make something work, the 3d portraits are decent enough but sometimes a player is just vain enough to want to draw their own.

I would love to be able to make my own custom portraits for this game. I did this for Battletech and it was awesome to go through the game with my own custom crew.
