Missiles are massively op, completely negates other weapon types
Being able to fire swarms of missiles that delete enemy mechs before they respond, or having players get deleted from half a map away is no fun.

I don't see how you could possibly balance them in their current form unless you reduce damage by maybe 90% or only have them fire once per battle, please add the option to remove them from the game entirely in the options menu.

the mls are strong and their are many per match, but so far, if you keep moving they dont tend to hit much.

Yup. Going by description you'd assume it is a direct fire weapon akin to the cannon. Nope, just another of the same missile launcher but with different stats.

Honestly they just need better counter-measures on the players side at least or their not working as intended. I had a sniper thruster dashing all over the map dodging several missle barrages but was still occasionally hit by magic teleporting missiles meanwhile my sniper can't hit the broadside of a barn as their rounds somehow thread the needle constantly with enemy mech gaps

Missiles seem OP?
Been watching a few gameplay videos involving using launchers (Believe it was called the starburst) and it looks like only one or two attack orders against most early enemy targets instantly deletes anything it touches. Was planning on getting this at some point, but wondering, does that strategy change? Or is it just an instant cheese for anything that can't dodge?

(Also apparently a mod or dev merged my discussion to this one? Huh, didn't know that could be done, and kinda wondering why...)

There was a patch just released that claims to have nerfed something. So while missiles are/were op now they either aren't anymore as of today's patch or won't be in a near future patch. I still rec the game though as it's plenty of fun regardless imo

I probably should have taken a screenshot but I had a game where I basically ran around a hill to just have the missiles become very ineffective terraforming toothpicks

Had this happen too but it was a highrise filled with orphans.

I can still hear the screams.

But yeah I'm about to do some research on how to mod ML's out of the game for now.

Edit: Felt like it needed to be reiterated. Every characteristic about MLs is over tuned:

Max range
Min range
Damage per second/action
Aoe size
Indirect fire capability
Mass
Tracking ability. I've seen them miss and continue following me for an entire additional turn.

They also don't jive well with the whole see into the future ability. You have to kinda guestimate when they're gonna hit.

I gotta agree, the missiles in this game are pretty ridiculous, on both ends

The lack of prediction also makes dashing out of missiles inconsistent

I agree as well, I was fighting in rain against a tank with an "unguided" rocket system and the rockets spammed 5-6 times a turn and absolutely vaporized my mechs

Yeah missile are WAY too OP. Good damage, very spam-able, most of them have very flexible range, can go around shield, can be fired on the move, can be fired from safety/behind cover, hard to predict, dodging them feels like RNG, hard counter heavy weapon mech(or any weapon that requires you to stand still).

Honestly they only feel balanced when you got a city map.

I think its fine not to nerf them on the player side, since really the player themselves decides how they play their singleplayer game. (Maybe increase the minimum range though.) So it has a counter. (Close range)
For enemies though, they should add Missiles to the 5 second prediction system. Really makes no sense when its supposed to predict everything on the battlefield. You end up not even realizing a mech is going to get hit by a missile in the air if you don't see it properly. Also you might not even know how to dodge it as a new player. Maybe it would be better if they added tracking lines of the missiles, so when players make a mech dash they can also see if the missiles miss or continue chasing.

I'd like it to be an option in difficulty section... like how often you want missiles to spawn... after all its just a variable in the game.

After playing the game myself the missiles and rockets are no problem.
Just learn the travel times of each system and you are good to go.
It's really not that hard.
