Beam Reflector?
What triggers a beam to reflect off something? Is it angle of incidence, shields, barrier, only specific sorts of beam, or the phase of the moon? Trying to figure this out, any help would be welcome. Thanks.

To my knowledge, beams only reflect off sheilds, though I believe you have to be actively blocking... Which I really should remember to take advantage of more in game to turn beams back against opponents....

Would be nice to be able to set the shield action to focus on an ally, would making bouncing beams around the map less hit and miss.

If you hold 'ctrl' you can set the shield in any specified direction. If unit is in movement the mech will rotate to keep the shield in line with the selected location.

I didn't know that shields reflect, but this could be used as an odd way to have the beam swipe the battlefield?

Here is my example of reflecting beam back to the shooter. During planing, when the beam shooter start shooting at your mech, simply point the shield to him and it will reflect back.

Ah-Ha!! Did not know this - thank you... had a battle yesterday where I needed to shield behind me, to block a missile swarm chasing me that I couldn't otherwise escape, but the only remaining enemy was in front of me, and I couldn't figure out how to set the shield manually.

Did you just block or did you do something else to reflect the beam?

I once saw a note on an enemy beam weapon, that the beam can be reflected with a shield. I thought "Cool! Let's exploit this", I started blocking while standing still through the whole attack. It completely chew through my shield and destroyed it. I had a shield with a barrier though, if it makes any difference.

has anyone worked out how you reflect it 3 times and then hit an enemy for the achievement yet?

most i've gotten is 2 reflections then it just always goes into the ground. because you have to deflect the shield into some, generally the ground. pointing at buildings makes there to much cover for the beam to really set up. there is a little bit of tracking with the beam attack, but basically needed 5 units at a stand still, no cover, and guessing the right angles for deflection seems highly unlikely

As others have mentioned, you need to use CTRL to point shields correctly at units to hit shields 3 times and then your final target. Example of 3 shield hits and hitting final enemy target to trigger achievement. Take a bit of RNG on the angle of the beams, but once you figure it out it will be simple to hit the enemy afterwards.
