AR2 Burst
I know everyone is hung up on missiles, melee weapons, rail guns, and giant heavy gatling guns, but the AR2 Burst is a top-tier gun on a nimble mech. Combine it with a Tower shield and you can basically run around while shielding yourself only to pop out for .4 seconds to either conc a pilot from back, delete a tank, or strip the torso armor from light/medium mechs. And if you have RNG in your favor, you can get the heat down to 59 per shot.

(Note: I should prioritize speed over dash as I want to keep the shield up, but sometimes the parts don't present themselves!)

This little monster runs into the middle of the enemy, running at full speed shield up, and once the enemy stops firing, just decimates anything in range, then goes back to shield running. Never mind that with the shield up it gets classified as heavy when calculating collisions. And if my shield takes too much damage? Dash/sprint to cover to regenerate for the next fight.

If you haven't tried this weapon, please do and see just how absolutely deadly it is.

i'll agree than it's a pretty good weapon indeed.

when i don't use the above mentioned weapons (because they are objextively better) i often use an AR2 when i get lucky to drop a good one.

like recenlty i got an AR2 as a blackmarket reward that is 4 level above my max level mech, so i use it.

Also agree with this, it also seemed the enemy didn't prioritise my mech with this weapon at all, so I was able to mow them all down with ease while firing 4-5 times a turn.

This. It actually better than most mid range weapons despite having lower dmg just because it can easily shoot 3 times per round.

It's the same deception for most automatic version of any type of gun. Like automatic shotgun and rifle have ~25% higher damage but they can only shoot once per round while their counterparts can shoot up to 3 times per round.

I was using ARs with concussive stats, but UHMG big stupid gun is the most OP...

No matter the game, you take out enemies in one turn, or damage them so badly that they cant do their attack + you can do this trough light obstacles...

My build now is UHMG + good thrusters so that my mechs jump around like cockroaches...
I just took the capital with all LVL10 mechs without a single part being destroyed, every round of enemies was destroyed as soon as they landed.

Yep UHMG is a little bit overpowered in my point of view. But it works really well when you are in same numbers as your enemies and have a good straight lines. Which capital mission is. I was lucky to have 2 overpowered UHMG and cleared capital on lvl 6. Lost one mech to the cheeky missile shots.
