PC is cooking.
Okay so I'm rocking a RTX 2080 Super and I have an intel I9 - 10900 k processor and rarely does my PC ever get hot unless I'm overclocking.

But for some reason this game, makes my PC smell like I'm frying bacon and its even caused it to crash due to overheating. Which really sucks, the game is enjoyable but I can only play it for about an hour at a time.

I even took my PC outside and dusted it out, which while that helped it still gets to absurd temperatures.

yeah, just bought the game and for the small amount I play I can see the same thing happening…
That the first time I heard my RTX 3070ti make that much noise or being this hot… :lunar2019madpig:

Oh same; i7-9700k and 3090

Haven't actually checked which but either my CPU or GPU fan is just maxing out in this game for some battles.

Just checked it's definitely my GPU almost always between 70% and 100% usage, I'm almost considering asking for a refund only because of that alone…
I mean, the game is fun, but the health of my computer is a little more important…

I refunded after trying my best to get it to run at 70 degrees. Couldn't do it.

After some test it seems removing v-sync and putting a fps limiter at 60 reduced the GPU usage from 80-100% to 60% on average, but I did not try on big battle…
Still seem ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane if I look at other game
Still I will probably refund

You'll have to add case fans or change the way airflow works through your PC. My last machine would easily hit 90c until I added an intake and exhaust fan.. not that it ever crashed.

Any time a game is using 100% your machine is going to melt, so getting them to change the game for it is a little roundabout. If you care about your PC you should fix it, sooner rather than later.

edit: your thermal paste on cpu/gpu could be damaged also, so that's another option to check out.

it aint an airflow issue when every other game runs fine. this game is a resource hog. does the same to my pc and literally no other games do.

If you are ok setting fps to 30 you will probably have no temperature issues and to be honest the way the game plays does't make it feel that bad.
Kinda sucks though i have a 3070ti and even with 60 fps limit it still gets periodically really hot.
Célestin Mar 10, 2023 @ 5:17am
Locking FPS seems to solve the issue but well... I saw my CPU going straight to 91°

Me too, Game needs optimization.

Game runs on Unity.

Thats all the explanation that is needed....

This is what happens without some kind of FPS limit. I recall something similar happening to another game where the frame rate in a menu had no limit and the GPU would just go wild trying to generate as many frames as possible and burn itself out in the game's menu.
Clogman Mar 10, 2023 @ 10:24am
Set FPS limiter in game to 30
Justinyl Mar 10, 2023 @ 12:08pm
set texture resolution to 50% instead of 100%. The graphics will still look the same but better performance

Wanted to add to the thread, my GPU usage seems to be around 90% and my office just gets hot really quickly even with windows open, than the fans start spinning really fast to try to keep the temps under control. Don't have a problem like this with any other game. I'm on a slightly older pc with a 8700K and a rtx 2070. I will try the fps limit. Hope that works.
