Low FPS and Stuttering
I have Core i7 6700K, 24GB RAM, and GTX 1070 spec. But I am getting FPS around 20-30 most of the times. Sometime even though, the FPS is around 60 the game play is not smooth, lot of Stuttering..

Anything I can do to solve lot of stuttering??

Hi.

Have you tried adjusting the settings in the Performance tab?
Launcher > Trainz settings > Performance settings

Also in the main window: Launcher > Start Trainz > System Settings (top left corner) > Video Settings.

Because of varying amounts of content and their performance in routes, this can cause stuttering if the settings are set too high.

Also content may be caching when loading a route or when moving about in a route. This can be helped by "prebuild" which caches content before hand so when you load a route there will be very little caching or stutter. "Prebuild" only needs to be done once initially, but as more content is downloaded etc, it pays to repeat the "Prebuild". I highly recommend doing the prebuild fairly regularly.

To do the "Prebuild",
1. tick the box "Enable advanced debug tools" in the Dev tab in the Launchers >Trains Settings.
2. Close TRS19 down completely then reload.
3. Launcher > Developer > Run TrainzUtil Command
4. Type prebuild in the small window that pops up.
5. Click OK
6. Wait till it finishes

Also try a manual "Database Rebuild". Launcher > Developer > Rebuild Database.

The above may or may not help, but it is worth a try.

Hi CaptainK27
Unfortunately as the majority of the content in Trainz, including the routes and sessions, is made by members of the community the exact performance you see may vary a bit between routes.

Generally what you may find helps is to adjust the video settings in the in-game settings, in particular the max draw distance, so as to reduce the number of objects on the screen at one time. You can find the in-game settings by clicking on the 'system menu' on the top toolbar (the 3 horizontal bars), then click on 'settings'. You should then see the video settings shown.

Hi @ZecRail, I see what you are saying. But I am seeing performance issue in one of Kickstarter County 2 tracks. But I see smooth in TANE. My problem is stuttering, does not matter if decrease the graphics.

Oh come on.. even I can see very LOW FPS in tutorials. Seriously, developer what excuses you are going to give me? I am sure the Tutorial scenes are created by you. RIP my money man!. I cannot get refund from Steam because I am passed two hours. HAPPY NOW Developer?????

I’m having a major issue! Anytime I go to couple to anything it’s fine, but when I uncouple, the game just freezes, you can still see the animations of smoke coming from the trains, but it stays locked up for up to 20 mins till it either crashes or it decides to move, then lock up for another 20 mins. My pc has the correct settings to run the game but it’s getting annoying. It’s happening with EVERYTHING no matter if it came with the game or was downloaded

This game is soo poorly optimized. I DID EVERY F*UC*KING THINGS!!!! and my FPS is so slow.!!!. Have you guys played Train Sim World??? They have developed in Unreal engine.. it was so smooth and very good graphics.!!!!! Now I am so worried why I purchased this game.

FYI I have nothing to do with Train Sim World or not trying to market their product. I don't want that sh*it.. I am tired of this game, and now I started TSW. Because I am a huge Train Sim fan.. so I had to choose best product.

This is basically an optimize-it-yourself game. If you pull the tree and landscape sliders to lowest it will have a LOD rendering distance quite similar to TSW and will perform fairly okay on most routes. I think the biggest killer I tried so far was Schwaninger Land, this one just murders my frame rates. But it's soo good that I can ignore the lag. It was made for T:ANE so this may also be a hint why it's very heavy for Trs19.
The only thing that annoys me about this game's stuttering is that it also seems to affect the physics so I get a lot of "rough handling" and "wheelslip" messages and wagons slamming together every time the game decides it needs time to load a bigger chunk of stuff...
