What upgrades to slot on Gato & U-4501?

I'm thinking just my regular boring default sub build:

Slot 2 I swap around a bit (will prolly start slotting in the enhanced hydrophone upgrade), so that's not set in stone or anything.

Sometimes I might swap slot 1 for ping survival depending on how reliant the ship is on spamming pings, so not super worried about what people put there.

So really I'm asking if these ships' gimmicks make any of the "cookie cutter" modules you can see I slot above redundant; or else get exceptional benefit out of alternatives.

I could imagine U-4501 would benefit from an extra 3 seconds on each reserve battery unit, but not amazingly so. The game does "recommend" the Dice Capacity Mod in slot 6, which makes sense, but strikes me as the sort of thing that's only useful for portions of the game where you're into the bottom ~15% of your dive capacity, compared to improved torp reload which is useful all the time you're spamming out damage.
Same goes for Dive Cap Mod 1 in slot 3.

Gato, I'd assume benefits just from default build fine - although if it's just shotting stuff all the time, I could also accept that the torps reload fast enough already between shotgun attack runs, so buffing it is potentially less useful than extending dive capacity?

Is there any high-WR consensus around the builds for these two? Or is it just "yeah, default's fine, they're subs, what more do you need?"

Subs are not my thing but they have one for Gato and one for the U which are aimed to get the most out of them ....!
