Salty AF about French BB Line.

I'm trying to grind for my 6th Tier X, Republique. I have suffered so much on Normandie and Lyon. But I'm not here for that today. This might be my first cry out for developers. I'm currently at aLSaCe. First of all I can tell you I've had somewhat decent 150k+ damage games with this thing, and I'm an average player but my aiming is usually pretty good. I'm an all around player playing every class and most of the nations time to time. I enjoy the game generally. This is the first time I bursted with anger.

How the f*ck is an Alsace Tier IX ship? Please someone put some sense into me. You barely hit anything and you cannot deal with nearly every BB you encounter(if the captain is not a total potato) not to mention the bow tanking meta these days and amount of Musashi I see recently. It sure feels like I'm the same tier ship with that legal cheat. 380mm is a joke of a main gun caliber on T9. AP is crap due to gun caliber, HE is good on paper, bad on practice. 240m or so max dispersion it says in the stats if you use dispersion mods. Yeah it definitely feels like it. You get citadelled easily if you are caught broadside. 32mm deck plating is a magnet for every HE spammer including CVs. Your max range is 20km so you need to get close unlike a Republique so that every HE spammer melts you behind islands. Only thing good is the speed and that doesn't mean much these days as nearly every ship seems to exceed 30 knots easily anyways. This ship is as bad as if not worse than the F. der Grosse. Every other T9 BB is better than this crap. This ship needs a very solid firepower buff.

Apparently Alsace is statistically the best non premium t9 battleship in NA. Of course I’m the worst person to be telling you this. I haven’t resumed the line since getting Alsace.

I have Kremlin and Yamato as T10 BBs and I want a kiter type battleship, also hate spamming HE like Conkeks. I know what I'm doing don't worry :)

Tier 9's are quite often the turkey of the line, pre-buff Ibuki and Izumo are just 2 I can think of off the top of my head.

Whole line from 6 up is really good. Alsace is best played at full speed charging angled at or away from enemy as situation demands. Would count the 8,9 and 10 as some of best bbs at tier.

Eh.. it can be pretty good. There are better ones, but there's certainly worse. I used it to pretty good effect last ranked.

Lyon is god tier against Cruisers and good against DDs and sometimes BBs but wouldn't call really good. Richelieu is pretty good but Alsace is bad due to MM. You don't get to brawl all the time when there is a CV and 2-3 DDs and HE spammers behind every island. I donno about Republique though, I'm curious about her.

Yea agree about not brawling in Alsace (until late game at least). Its great speed and agility mean its very good at escaping bad situations, use a heal or two, then get back in the fight.

I loved all the french BBs from Normandie on up. Due to their squishness though, you really have to position well to make sure you arent focus fired, and get in a position to get flanking shots on the enemy team. This allows even smaller caliber guns to be quite effective.
