Mind during replays you can freely move camera and even detach it from the ship, so that's likely not what he has seen on screen.

here it is
also, he has a bunch of numbers and stuff by his reticle, why don't i have that info on my game??
About numbers — either hold Alt or activate Alternative Battle interface in Control options. All pros set it either to Full or at least Adaptive. It's not even game modifications(mods).
Here's one more pro-tip: if you hold right-mouse button while being aimed at enemy ship — you can look around while the aim will still maintain the same lead, this can make it easier to see where your shots go. As long as the target keeps approximately the same lead it can be useful.
And yeap, American cruisers are notorius for their mortar-like ballistics allowing to camp islands.

wow thanks! I definitely will check out the interface option thanks! And that right-mouse button trick is a life saver now since i picked up an Atlanta! I'm really trying to keep aware of the island hiding while keeping my rain of fire going, but i usually stick out like a sore thumb haha, totally worth it though; it's a blast to play using that technique!
