For me it's the one I play best in, whether premium or otherwise, I quite often bring out the Fiji if I need credits.
+1
For a long time my only tier 6 BB was the Bayern.... a wonderful ship, but it can at times be a little stingy on the overall damage per minute scale. Then i got the Izmail and discovered what a real BB can do!, but unlike the Bayern, any degree of broardside is a guarranteed citadel in the Izmail... i think it has invisible hands that reach out and catch shells and pulls them into the citadel!! lol
I also tried the New Mexico.... the speed is hopeless, it is totally impractical
I do not have the Warspite, but i regularly see people playing it, and i have seen what they can do, so i know its a very good ship for that reason.
I also got a Mutsu in a super container.... handles very much like the New Mexico only with less rediculous speed.
I'm a new player and I'm tired of the Massachusetts as well! Lol
I don't care what the stats say, it's a fantastic ship for op's and random
OFC it's lower on stats list it's often givem out free with promo's or to returning "newbies"
so it's loss rate will be higher and dps on paper lower
But in half decent hands it's a quality ship
You know, the stats may say that one ship of another is better, and it's probably true, but I have to say this. I love Dunkerque. Dunkerque is fantastic. Dunkerque is the ship I started doing PvP in. She's the ship I have the best record in. She's the ship I have the most matches in (over 300). She's a blast, and I love her.
She's an atypical BB. She has thin armor. She has 8 330 mm cannons pointing forward, so you never have to show side to all your firepower to bear, and her turrets have good traverse time. Her turrets reload quickly (for a BB), at 26 seconds. Her shells have 840 m/s initial velocity, making her gunnery pretty comfortable. She goes at 29.5 knots, the fastest battleship at her tier. Her secondaries are also hilarious (though, honestly, you're probably dead if an enemy gets close enough for them to do major work).
People tell you to use her as a flanker. Is she good at that? Probably. I don't do that though. I actually bow tank using Dunk.
Does she have survival issues? Not really, no. Can 15 inch cannons overmatch her armor? Yes. Does that matter much? Not usually. Just point at the enemy shoot, and reverse when things get too hot. her profile from the front is thin enough that it really doesn't matter that much. She has a 31.1 m beam. With the way dispersion works in WoWs, that's like trying to shoot at a quarter of a destroyer side, at T6, where things aren't all that accurate. If they want to close on you, they're going to have to deal with all 8 of your cannons, while masking their back turrets to try to gain on you.
Other ships might technically be better, but Dunkerque is my #1.

Dunkerque, Warspite, Prinz EF & Graf Spee. OK, technically the Spee is a heavy cruiser, but the Deutschlands were called pocket battleships for a reason.
Out of these, Warspite is the only "classic" battleship, slow, yes, but a tough cookie and with brutal guns. I do have an issue with the main battery's traverse though, I use both the "expert marksman" skill and the traversing upgrade, unfortunately this limits the range of the secondary battery. Slow ship, slow traverse, slow rate of fire... I have mixed feelings.
Dunkerque. The first premium that I ever bought. The reason was the all-forward main battery. No regrets. People make fun of her secondaries, but they're actually decent. If a DD or cruiser appears behind you, those secondaries will proceed to shred while you can keep your main battery on threats in front of you. Take advantage of your speed and forward mains while your secondaries watch your back.
The Prinz EF, technically a battlecruiser, straight armour belt instead of turtleback - thecause she's a battlecruiser, not a battleship. Decent main and secondary battery, good speed. But if you play her like a tanky BB, you will get spanked. I think this ship is underrated by some.
Graf Spee gets the honourable mention because despite her cruiser grade armour, she has a lot of HP and her guns will citadel even BBs. Secondaries as surprisingls heavy for a "cruiser". Oh, and she has 8km torpedoes...
I don't know what OP wants to do with a T6 premium BB (pve or pvp), but these are the ones that I have. Maybe also consider which nation you are likely to train the most captains for. Unsurprisingly, my favourite force (RN) is also the one for which I have the most premium vessels, it helps with captain training.
They were called Pocket Battleships by the British for propaganda purposes.
Buying a T6 premium seems like a bit of a waste. For a few bucks more, you could be in a better tier like 7 or 8. If T6 just fits the price-point you want, I might recommend buying premium time instead.
To what end? Saying that they were breaking the treaty?
Heavy cruiser doesnt sound as scary as Pocket Battleship. The Germans just called them Panzerschiffes which means armored ships.
Also Texas is a T5 not a T6.
tbh, the T6 battleship that has always scared me the most is definitely Warspite. Not the highest caliber, but definitely enough to overmatch the standard 13mm armor and surprisingly consistent even at extreme ranges. I eat citadels from her for breakfast :(
Some other ships worth mentioning--I'll go with P.E. Friedrich here, not like she's going to citadel me often but simply because she is so frustratingly hard to damage. *insert German armor joke* Same goes with Bayern but Bayern doesn't have quite the maneuverability to dodge shells like the Prinz.
Also, Mutsu would be a headache occasionally since I don't dare rushing her with torpedoes XD
Aside from that I'm not particularly afraid of any BB but I guess it just comes down to skill. imho, any BB can outplay any CA/CL; the opposite is also true.
Also, Texas is actually a T5. (EDIT: long-ish post got me beat to the punch)
Also also, I don't know that I agree that higher tiers are better. They earn more credits, but as my gushing indicated, I love Dunkerque, and thus T6. I've been mostly playing at T9 in Azuma for a while now, but if it's not Azuma, it's Dunk, and Dunk is still a blast. Probably more fun honestly (don't get me wrong, I love Azuma too), but I'm more invested in trying to get better at using Azuma.
You might expect that Richelieu-class battleships would be a good high-tier proxy for the Dunkerque-class, and they are, but due to the threat level of everything at high tiers, they can't push in quite like Dunkerque can. Well, at least in the case of Jean Bart.
