Tier X battleship: which ones are the best?

Greetings, I am wondering which T10 BBs are currently best choices and why. I am espeically wondering if the USS Montana is still a good ship to play both in ranked and random since I am currently closest to that one. I did see a discussion on this but it was from May so I wanted more current information.
Also what are the strengths and weaknesses of different T10 BBs and why they aren't currently very good or why they are.

I had wondered about that one, since it has 457mm guns, what else is goo about it?

Everything. Armor, turret traverse, shell velocity, gun dispersion and the most broken thing by far is its penetration. It's completely off the charts.

For clan battles on CIS in top leagues it was mostly Montana, Yamato, some Republiques and GK.
Rare Bourgognes didn't seem worth it.
Not Conqueror for sure. And don't remember Kremlins though they were available during last season.

For ranked Kremlin might be nice, i'm not an expert. And current clan battles T8 season is dominated by Vladivostoks / Lenins because limited damage controls are not such a big problem for shorter battles with less enemies.

Modes are very different, for example no CVs in clan battles yet, so AA is irrelevant. Only 1 BB in clan battles, so he likely won't be able to flank you and cruisers don't deal as much.

So there's no best ship for all modes, and all enemy setups.

Oh yeah, Kremlin also has the strongest AA out of all T10 BBs. Thanks for reminding me Ryuu.

@OP, I'm not a huge BB player, but Montana is still very good, just not the min/maxers choice anymore, a very consistent ship and used to be the go to BB for Clan Battles. It was overshadowed by the Yamato with the legendary upgrade however. Have no experience with French or German.

If you are close to the Montana (tier 8-9) I would suggest to keep going. If you're tier 5ish, I would suggest grinding another line and going for the Kremlin, it is the strongest at the moment, but as Ryuu says there is no best ship, it still gets citadeled easily from the side.

German high tier BBs stink from what I've heard and seen. Even if they were decent I wouldn't go for them because trying to grind with the Gneisenau is a nightmare.

They all perform different roles so there isn’t really a best one, some roles are abit more useful but there is no one size fits all.

USN is a jack of all trades, if you ignore the USN perks that gives most damage potential, Longer DCP immunity, floaty shells

IJN doesn’t give a damn about your bow and is going to get focused down because of that

RN also doesn’t give a damn about your bow but trades raw numbers for DoTs and survivability

KMS is similar to USN with even better survivability but worse main guns, by a lot. Unrivaled secondaries and hydro.

German secondaries got nerfed a long time ago. Their BBs were really good back then but the main reason they have fallen off the meta is the excessive powercreep.

Kremlin is actually harder to citadel than Montana unless you are very close because its armored belt is much stronger. The only exception is when you're in a Kremlin yourself as it has enough penetration to citadel itself from range.

Also contrary to what Ryuu said T8 clan battles are dominated by russian BBs not despite their limited damage controls but because of them. They reload so fast it's practically impossible to burn them down within 15 minutes. The other reason is their nigh immunity to HE spam which is why no one brings cruisers to CBs. If your penetration doesn't matter you want the utility of a DD.
