Possible 18th century ships and battle?
Would love to see some 18th century ships like HMS Victory and battles. Cash shop commander Cutler Beckett...it's just good business.

HMS Victory lives just down the road from me in my home city and was until quite recently still the flagship of the Royal Navy. Would be a cool addition to the game to have that era represented although im not sure how well they would work with existing game mechanics. There would at least be no submarines or aircraft carriers for them to worry about :)

That is very cool, I wish some day to visit myself and tour the ship where admiral Nelson once stood.

It would be awesome to have full scale clan war or trade escort mode and such.

Only sub I like is from my Italian deli :)

That would need an entirely separated game mode. And some way to simulate wind strength and direction. Actually it would pretty much mean a fully separated game, which would have not much obvious similarities with WoWs except maybe the graphics. Both handling those ships as well as fighting with them are so entirely different to anything that is in the game.

The Complexity of aiming so many guns with such restricted angles along with rigging and sail animation plus damage models to ship, guns, sails, ropes and so on .... wow would be one hell of a Complicated game and some serious Engine & animations required!!

Take a away wind, you won't be playing those ships though. Just a modern ship whose outside has been turned into a look-alike. That's just not the same and feels rather lame to me.

Yea you may have right there

I suppose there would be pacing issues as well since those sorts of ships would be struggling to get much over 10knots. Timing the manoeuvres for broadsides has its appeal but I have to agree that WoWs might not be the place for such things. Shame though.

I reckon you would need a whole new engine along with animation and "Crew" meaning a 18+ Game ... as boarding and shooting one another with rifles was a big deal!! when you "disabled" a gun it was usually because you killed the Men Manning it!! That said they had ammo like 2 balls of steel tied to a razor wire to cut ropes and stays for the sails!! really brutal battles and well it was a war of attrition or numbers!!! Kinda brutal to be fair!!
