No idea why WG are so resistant to this.
Like, can their spaghetti code not handle cyclone spotting for planes if there's also an actual cyclone happening in the match or something? Surely not - subs cyclone-spot with their tools don't they?
Is there an issue with hacks rendering cyclone-invisible ships that could be mass-exploited if someone queues with a CV? Maybe, but surely that's an argument against the mechanic for regular cyclones / subs too?
Also, the "planes get shot down faster if they focus a target" concept seems a bit janky - when ships were blobbing AA was a relatively impenetrable auto-nuke; surely if planes are just hanging around in an AA bubble and this is causing the AA to ramp up, multiple ships overlapping their AA will all get the same effect simultaneously?
Is it going to be "taking damage from planes gives a temporary AA buff"? If so that's just insane - like do Russian CVs just not have to deal with that because of the downtime between alpha strikes? Does it reset if the CV hits someone else?
Promoting "chaining" is alright, a bit - but killing the isolated enemies threatening your teammates with a crossfire is a relatively high priority for a CV (next to killing the DDs / subs and perma spotting island campers).
But I suspect it's going to change beyond all recognition before it hits the live servers anyway - but meh, one more reason for me not to bother finishing my guide if the entire CV section's just gonna straight up become obsolete down the line.
