Latest Update Causes Friends to Appear Offline

I'm not really sure why but each time my friends try and get together we're all marked as offline and require several game restarts just to get the game to function properly. I have no idea why this happens I just know this last update has made it a lot more common.

That's been a thing as long as the game has been around unfortunately. Perhaps off and on, but it definitely sticks around. I have one friend who for months (maybe years?) had to invite me to divisions. He was always offline to me, but I was online to him. At some point recently he shows online to me. I think they just did a pretty horrible job of programming the social aspect of the Port.

PSA game breaking bug alert

This is occurring to myself, friends, and clan mates in WOWS. We are all "online" but we appear "Offline" to each other, and therefore cannot join each other in a division. We can send messages to each other, but we only receive them when we log off and log back into the game. Again, this has never happened until this patch.(12.6)

WG refuses to make any comments about this on there discord all my friend quit 4 days ago over this and ive now followed them.

if this only happened since 12.6 for you then wow you got lucky!! this has been a "Feature" for years where people could not see others online! Simply relogging would fix it or get someone who could see them online to invite them to divisions.

True unfortunately. This is old news. Though I haven't seen it myself for a while, I do get regular confirmation it still exists.

Its still happening today, many of the Dog clan members are experiencing chat issues, seems to be a time delay and difficulty setting up divs, first I have ever experienced it.

Any potential fixes or fix coming, every single discussion comes to a sort of dead end at this point where they acknowledge the problem but can't really find a good fix and I"m not sure if the developers are aware of the issue at this point. I think I'm just kind of frustrated there's no clear explanation.

There hasn't been any news on when (or whether at all) it will be fixed. I'm not even sure whether they know what is causing it.

Really unfortunate, I guess all we can do is hope they notice and keep reporting the more or less game breaking bug, I've gotten it to work sometimes by verifying the files and relaunching, I should note me and my friends haven't modified the game to any capacity but this happens to the same extent with others who have.

I really doubt it'll get fixed. My personal opinion it's that it's very low priority because few people use it. Clan off/online works fine as a general rule. Most people play with people in their clans I expect. I'm basing this purely on the fact that they've never bothered giving it a permanent fix, but anything that affects a large group of players gets fixed quickly. The person I mentioned above is the only person I play with who's not in my clan.

friends list not showing online

after this last update, the friends list is constantly not showing online even though they are online. We have figured a small loophole around this bug where if we each play a co-op or random and log off and back on after the match, we can sometime see each other. It's 100% but regardless an annoying. Is anyone else encountering this?

It's anything but game-breaking, quite honestly. So I can understand it being low priority. On the other hand, it has been years. So the fact that it's still there is not giving off an air of competence.

To be fair its seemed a lot more prevalent recently. Seems to be affecting about half of my NA clan when im online there (and thats a pretty active clan with 20-30 online at peak times and a full roster).

Merged the various posts anyway and moved to Problems and Bugs section.

When launching the game via Steam with both versions, the in game overlay doesn't work anymore, neither does taking screenshots. It's activated and I hear the sound when I do but after I quit playing, all the screenshots show up blank in the uploader. It used to work fine. Since the last few updates, it stopped. I've been using GForce to take screenshots.
