Here's a discussion thread to "like"
Ahoy Captains,
You probably noticed that the Esteemed Reaper King put up a discussion thread for folks to "vent"... 8992 comments thus far -

Wow, that's a lot of people who don't like the game they play... let me flip the card - who LIKES WoW and why?

Cheers

There isn't much to like lately with the direction WG has taken the game over the last couple years sadly... even beyond the mechanics themselves, the structure of the way new stuff is added has soured a lot of people, whether it be EA or other monetization schemes with new stuff.

Collections for one have taken a turn for the worse, when is the last time they had a collection which didn't end up almost (I say almost) forcing a fair number of people to spend money to complete? When was the last time a collection was added that we could just have "active" and complete through daily crates?

How many ships that were 'meh' at best have actually been added through normal means that weren't limited time paywalled and available through the grind (like coal ships, we got only a small handful at best over the last 2 years+)?

And that's not even covering the massive power creep, the dumb arcade gimmicks which have only spread out and gotten worse, more planes, subs, etc.

It's a lot of people that post over and over also. It's a fun thread :)

Hey y'all, thanks for stopping by.

Superczar, appreciate the run through of what's "practically" wrong with the game but there's gotta be something that you like about it that keeps you coming back?

As for me, there's a couple of things -
When you get a paint job for your ships that has a historical basis and the tactical necessities of running down a target and finally taking it out = satisfaction.

I do like the fact they put the old dreadnought BB35 USS Texas in the game. I grew up not too far from her and got it for nostalgic reasons more than anything.

I 'like' it's the best game for Window Mode, with a series on the other monitor, is it always so clever to multitask? probably not...

Yeah still love the game, and the days when the playerbase isn't being the playerbase I do enjoy it. But anymore I only play a few quick Coops a day for the daily BXP BP missions and thats about it - havent worked on grinding up any ships or even done much if any ranked lately. This game is no longer my second job - it got replaced by RAID and I have picked up and gotten into Diablo IV, so that leaves even less time and desire to play ships for very long.
