But serious, there should be bots in the matches if it can't match up. That's how it always works for me on NA with other ships. Haven't tried subs.
True, at higher tiers they're usually full anyway though.
I am not much of a sub player but for training to counter other subs and for the lolz I would do it!
Although you would need to be either always visible submerged or only have a 5 min time to cap one point to make it interesting.
Wouldn't be a lot of fun.
Without teammates to punish surfaced subs, it comes down to outspotting - which S-189 will always wins; and if players try to dive to avoid that, it becomes a quickdraw on Sub Surveillance consumable - which S-189 with the sub surveillance cooldown upgrade and CO skill will always win.
Once they get too close together the reduced damage from shotgunning nerf makes it a mess - and precludes equal-depth blindfire that used to be a way of using skill to outplay the "bait-out-the-DCP" minigame.
Even if you don't have S-189 just hard-winning, the enhanced upgrade and consumable are always mandatory even if you've got the best surface detection; and Alliance is right behind S-189 ready to make its excellent homing torp tracking a no-fun warhead against everything else.
Not really ideal gameplay - which is a bit of a bummer considering how important and essential taking out the enemy sub early is for winning regular Randoms as a sub.
It's a bit like "All CV vs CV"
You'd have a ton of Subs and they'd either try to completely avoid each other the whole match (Unlike surface ships this is sorta easy to do) And you'd so rarely see another sub it'd take forever to move the game forward.
Also torp dodging would be pretty easy too.
If such a game mode did happen I'd also unfortunately expect German subs to be best, since they have the longest Submarine surveillance which would vastly hinder the others
Though UK subs or others with a primary battery might do well if they avoided going under water and just tried to gun the others.
Sub vs DD would be great.
