First Chat Ban!
Got mine today ...... (well it was about a week ago I think it happened and kicked in today) so learn to not react badly!!

I was on for a Solo Warrior in a YueYang me vs 1 DD and 1 Cruiser and 3 BB's .....
as i sank the first BB he (a guy who was dead on my team) started telling the enemy team where I was and where I was going to.... he did this until I had got them down to a DD and BB and I Killed the DD (Halland) to be killed by the BB ..... Solo Warrior gone!!

So I reported it all ....
Then ...
I made a mistake ....

I went to Direct Message them in game and wow ... I RAGED!!! DO NOT DO THIS! I said some nasty things and called him names and yeah .... I was drunk and yeah I was super annoyed ..
Next Time just use the report and walk away......

Be nice Folks!!

Sorry!! but it does sometimes happen!!!

I will admit I used to be a toxic a-hole in chat but never got even a warning. I often wondered why.

Now I play with chat permanently off, it's much better for my sanity.
I had a person last week went off on me In a co-op could not believe It a co-op battle. Dam near every single word was fu as hole that was In a co-op lol and shooting his main guns and launched one set of torps I just lol him every time. I had my Burgie running beside him about 7 km. My Burgoyne killed his two ships that he was facing , trying to get his torps off he did do damage to them he was so mad over a coop game I could not believe It..

Here Is the kicker we were headed towards the cv and the cv was going In full speed towards us. I turned to the right and fired one set of my main guns killing a almost a full health cv from the front ,I could not believe It beside from the side, I have never done that ever, I thought It was a full health cv. Afer this I just typed lol again in chat. But he still placed higher than me In stats I could not believe It lol. Three ships I stole from him and did not do It Intentionally and was borderline rage sicko.

The only ever (1 day) chat ban I got, I unironically got for talking down myself and a stupidity that I had done. Using an F-bomb or two in the process.

Because you have to send in screenshots or a replay to support and almost no one actually cares about pixels enough to do that.

As a pillar of the community (lol) I do feel the need to send a ticket at times. Actually did two in the last week, although thats a rarity for me. One was a guy who would have made a sailor blush with his language and the second was doing what Revenge described above.

He was on the other team and managed to somehow die in the first 3 minutes of the match (high tier game). He then spent the next 8-9 minutes raging about a Jager on his team and telling us where he was, shouting things like "JAGER ON E1, KILL THIS LOWLIFE" and so on. And all this despite the fact the Jager was on the opposite flank to him so had nothing to do with him getting sunk.

Personally just felt sorry for the Jager who was my direct competition on that flank and honestly wouldnt fancy being in his position with some toxic teammate trying to sabotage me, hence the ticket to support.

For the record, revealing allied positions is against the EULA and earns you an automatic chatban. Of course, avoiding dropping to their level is a good idea :)

Thanks for the reply.
Guess I'm lucky then, my chat was banned so often I've just modded it out and play like this is a single player game now.

Not to be mean or combative but maybe thats a sign that you need to address how you type in chat and treat people ingame???? I am not you and have never met you ingame (to my knowledge). It just seems to me that you would be better served monitoring your attitude vs turning off chat which makes you liable to missing pieces of important communication with your team. Like I said, not dumping on you and I hope you do not take it as such. We all have flaws and I have my fair share,

In other news. I have yet to get a chat ban. But thats because the only time I get snippy is when someone starts laying into team members extra hard. And its mostly just to remind them that is a video game and that is not worth the negative feelings they are feeling. Which mostly ends in them telling me to fly a kite and I block them. I am just not that smart it would seem.

I have observed, I think, that the higher the Tier levels of ships in play you run into far more toxic, hostile players. Please correct this assertion if you disagree. I'd love to know other opinions about Tier and Toxicity.

From 5 up it gets worse and it is usually the below 50% players who rage a lot!

My mistake was taking the convo to the Direct Message after game as I was sooooooo annoyed and I went total North English Rage on the person!! in reflection .... I should just have reported it all and walked away but the Whiskey said no ...... Sorry WG!!
To be honest WG does not police their In game chat. Its been getting worse. Players are using cuss words like fu way to much even In coop . I mark It In game for bad language and nothing Is done about It. WG needs to give automatic no chat In game 5 days or a week. Nothing is being done right now I don't think..

To be fair there was never a time when you could have a WG employee sitting in spectate ready to hand out justice to people breaking the rules. The automated chat filter has been proven to work however and people can and do receive bans for bad language. Just because you see someone acting like that in one game it doesnt mean that they havent been banned for it subsequently. Also dont forget that it takes 2 minutes to make a support ticket for anyone who is being really unpleasant.

As for things getting worse, sadly thats a societal thing rather than a specifically WoWs thing.

There's always the option to do what they did in World of Tanks, remove the ability to chat to the enemy team.

I have gotten In trouble a few times like when i was making comments like . You players could not cut your self out of a paper bag or calling players pansies. And I got a few days off from In game chat. Back then they were I thought dealing with It correctly.
