So i can leave once i blow up?
I suck so i blow up early a lot. it says online we can leave and still get rewards, but it doesn't explicitly say it in-game.

are there any penalties? is there any reason to stay 15 more minutes watching other people play besides "learning by watching"?

Nope, if your dead and played .... aka moved and shot you get some rewards if you leave straight after sinking ... this said, learning to live and be better means more rewards and lot faster!!

as for Learning by Watching, I would heavily suggest you join a decent clan or watch the twitch CC's and ask them to play the boat your currently playing for advice ... some is good ... some is Meh and some is Gold!

Good luck!

im also a little confused because every thread i find online says you cannot play the same ship if you leave after your dead, until that match you left has ended. but that isn't the case?

was there an update that changed that since 2022? because reddit threads from 2022 suggest i shouldn't be able to keep playing the same ship after blowing up-leaving-rejoining, but i can?

It used to be the ship was tied up till it was released from battle. There was a time when that was accurate but it no longer is.

One thing to be aware of, if you're playing low tier matches in Random that have bots, or playing coop and all players are dead, I believe it just ends the match which can result in a loss or a draw. Keep that in mind. If you're in higher tier randoms where it's all players, or in coop where there are players still alive you're good to leave once sunk.

Yep like Rev says - either join a half-decent clan or learn via videos by streamers.

Don't bother trying to learn from watching other players as some of the play is appalling.

When you are sunk you can press escape and exit to port freely and you will also see a button labelled "Battle On" which will instantly queue you again in the same ship. It used to be the case that you couldnt use a ship again until the battle ended but this was changed a while ago.

As above, if you are struggling and you see someone doing particularly well, you can always stay in spec and see what they are doing which can be helpful if you are new to the game.

Doesn't matter if it's bad or good, you learn what to do and not to do by watching. If you see a player do something dumb, usually you'll also see what happens afterward :) I mostly learned that way. I never watched videos to speak of - there wasn't much of that when I was learning.

I find there's a lot of value in seeing how a match plays out, because that's how you see the consequences of your decisions, and how the battle impact those decisions generate ripples through the rest of the match and shape the outcome.

It's how you start getting a sense of what the paths to victory in a match are, and how they get closed down by each player on a team's decisions until victory slips out of the remaining players grasp.

It's that knowledge that lets you identify the high-impact plays which shut down enemy paths-to-victory; that will keep your team in the game (that isn't to say prolonging the match, but avoiding the point of defeat that happens way before the match actually ends); and thus flip losses to wins and making matches as close to impossible for your teammates to lose as feasible.

It's certainly possible to learn the odd trick, or identify how badly a misplay blows up in the player's face - but often appreciating that requires more game knowledge to properly judge.
The real value is getting a sense of the ebb-and-flow of the match and how the specific micro-decisions spread out to fill the entire gamespace.

they are correct you can leave right away but I would suggest to you to at least look at the map see where you got sunk and think about where you could have gone and how you could have done things differently you will get that map again and it may help to have a plan when you do

It took me so many games before i realised this....

And here I thought I was the only one to watch the match after im dead (ingame-lol). But to be fair, I only watch games who I think had good enemy players that I can learn from.
honestly i think the streaming community for this game is dog water so I always just watched people play after dying to figure out how things worked then replicate it myself to see if that works or not. I was fascinated many times.

everything about this game is trial and error after all

yeah at some point watching others gets boring though, I reached that point a long time ago. Probably when you understand exactly where you went wrong every time you play

Hi,
I wish to contact you regarding an incident that occurred during a recent game of World of Warships. Unfortunately, my internet connection experienced several unexpected outages during the game, resulting in a disconnection lasting 2 to 3 minutes.

These interruptions were entirely beyond my control. However, I have noticed that my account has been accused of unsportsmanlike behavior and cheating as a result of this incident. I would like to emphasize that I fully respect the rules of the game and that my only intention was to participate normally in the game.

I thank you for your review of the situation and your consideration of the circumstances. If necessary, I can provide further details or evidence regarding my connection at the time of the disconnection.

There isn't anyone here that can address that issue. Steam moderators sole job/role is to moderate the chat in this forum.

Getting disconnected and unable to rejoin the battle is a common occurrence. The automated message you got is a generic message that goes to every player who leaves a game early (without being sunk first). The server has absolutely no way of knowing why you dropped out. At worst your name will be coloured pink for 3 games. It does not have any effect on your account. Most of us just go spam a few quick games in co-op mode to "serve our sentence".

The first time it happens to you can come as quite a shock (I speak from experience). But really, it's no big deal at all - the AI behind the message is just blind and dumb.

As above we cant do anything about this sort of issue. Sorry.

The warning is just that - it means nothing and as long as the problem doesnt happen again in subsequent games it will be lifted after 3-4 matches played. It wasnt an accusation of cheating, it was merely asking you to not be afk and to not leave a match while you are still afloat.

As for your "unexpected outages" its impossible for the game to know whether this was a power cut or you turning your router off deliberately. The reason these warnings exist is to stop people being able to rage quit out of matches when they dont like the look of the MM. It happens to us all at times which is why there is no sanction at all (apart from having your tag go pink for a couple of games) unless it keeps on happening.

You must stay and watch your team. You are also obliged to tell them what they are doing wrong and tell them what an idiots or noobs they are. All players who suck and blow up early must do this.
