I tried support, but they want me to install software that gathers information about my computer.
Honestly, there is no way i'm safe with that.
I don't know anything about how that information is used, or who uses it.
And where it ends.
And if I really want to play, I know the servers are running fine in the middle of the week.
So I can just play there, without sending any information.
WGCheck? Been a while since I used it, but IIRC it's pretty transparent. I seem to recall you being able to check the log file yourself. It's just like a DXDiag text dump with basic hardware information, etc - stuff like motherboard, CPU, what version device drivers you're using, etc, etc.
Along with some debug logs from the game.
I send them the log file.
But they want me to install more software.
And from what I can gather, this is WAY more than I feel safe to do.
So they know what drivers and hardware I'm using already.
What IS safe about that?
If you are an expert I will listen, otherwise I can game on Monday to Thursday without problems.
WGCheck[wargaming.net] is, I assume, the software you're talking about.
Assuming nothing has changed since I last used it:
You don't "install" it. You run it, it does its thing, and then it's done.
You won't've sent WGCheck's reports to them if you haven't downloaded and run the software yet.
It generates its own reports. As I said, it's been ages since I last used it - but IIRC it also does connectivity checks, will look at DNS settings, etc, etc.
It's not particularly sophisticated - it's just packaging up typical DXDiag dumps, a few standard MS troubleshooting logs, etc. Totally uncontroversial unremarkable log files the PC generates - put together in a uniform and convenient way for WG to get the information they need to troubleshoot.
And, as I said, I'm pretty sure you can see the log file it generates to confirm there's nothing remotely secretive that it's uploading to WG.
If WG wanted to spy on you, they'd just use the game client to do it.
All of these things are potential issues hence people flagging them as things to check. For a client side issue we cant really do more than offer generic advice and if that doesnt work suggest you contact support. You might want to check your firewall and AV settings to see if something has changed there thats blocking you logging in/playing.
I assume you looked at the official troubleshooting tips and tried all the things there?

Ok, so I can use it, without compromising my computer?
Not trying to put on silverhat or anything, just trying to be a little smart.
I hope it's understandable.
IF they wanted your information it's already there from stuff like cookies.
War gaming doesn't really get anything useful by compromising your pc, a public company with a public image isn't the same as some hacker sitting in a dark room.
They want you back in the game so they can get money in some way (People playing still equals money)
Thank god I have 1000/1000 with cable.
116mb/sec
I really want this to work.
Then perhaps I don't want help?
But perhaps they should be interesting in paying costumers, and provide at problem free service?
Then we wouldn't be in this situation right?
Like I said before, there are definitely some ignorance in here.
It's like SO MUCH uphill trying to get help in here without getting throwed mud in the face!
At this moment I'm not even sure the game is the biggest problem, sometimes it's the attitudes from folks in here that feels they need to comment on everything, while not being constructive, or ACTUALLY wants to help.
You MUST see that the comment you just made, are really not helping?
Right?
No, none of us can really help you anyway. We can just point you to support if the obvious things don't work. Then you'll have to do as they ask if you want to figure out the problem their way. Or, perhaps if you play around with it long enough, you'll figure it out. Most problems are relatively simple. It's just silly not to use the software they ask you to use. If they put spyware on your computer, everyone would know about it. How would that benefit them?
Just think about things for a moment :)
Perhaps you know more than me then, fair enough.
I trust Steam.
I trust EA.
I trust Ubisoft.
I trust Rockstar.
I trust Blizzard/Microsoft.
I trust Epic.
I was just not sure about some eastern Europe with a launcher of only 3 nearly identical games.
ESPECIALY, when game from all other mentions runs fine for me.
And with that logic, I could say all games runs fine for all other right?
But we all know that aint true ofcourse, that's why I mentioned the ignorance.
And that' why I wish some in here was more helpfull, rather than constantly throwing ignorant cliche-lines.
Just the fact that some days the game runs without problems, tells a lot.
But nevertheless, thanks for your input, you might not think I like it, but overall ofcourse I do.
