You could get a t10 tech tree
There were tons of free Santa boxes (likely 1 would drop a ship)

How is the free warship a problem?
This Christmas was one of the better ones on record for free stuff/giveaways.
It was really obvious by the combat missions and them telling you had to play.
Waiting to just before the event *ENDS* and then complaining there's no free gift is like never buying a car and saying "I don't have any transport to get somewhere"
Any game that has an event typically requires some form of actually playing and ability to read.
Showing up well after the offer, not having read it and complaining they didn't get anything is never how it's done anywhere, not just war gaming.
