Last night felt like a blow out night, won 4 in less that 10 min battles and then lost 3 games in a row where we won our flank but when looking at the "Team" we had killed 3-4 of them and we where down 6-7 ships in like 5 minutes.... these are "Holiday" games I am sure of it as it happens every Christmas and Holiday Period where people are either grinding snow flakes or playing new ships they got in crates!!
in 2 of the 3 games last night we had divisions of below average players in brand new premium ships (so like 1-4 games in the ship) and they all died first .... was kinda painful watching a Smaland with only one game go into a cap, radar then get slaughtered in seconds .... I want a Smaland!!
Next one was a guy with 2 games in a Georgia just sailed straight in and got torped and the final one was a Christmas Present Schlieffen .... 30 something games with a 30% on that ship .... again thinking it was a Co-op!! No Rupprecht hence it was a Christmas one I guess!
oh and the worst for me personally was the one where the sub died instantly as he did not submerge for planes and the DD then left the flank allowing a Halland and their sub to chase me to the back of the map in a Columbo .... I Begged the DD to get back but no .... all in vain!!
But it is Christmas so be kind is what I think! I can take a Hit now and again!
i play port queens or neglected boats until i lose / win (depending on how things go), and then I'm forced to pick a new ship. See how long I can keep the streak going
just a way to mix things up when frustrated.
And recently what really hasn't helped (and I mean REALLY hasn't) has been the big brain move by WG to give away high tier ships to pretty much anyone. Especially the Audacious.
TBH, from what I can see, also part of the problem is the use of W/L ratio as a metric for player's ability. It ties into so much bad stuff with the game.
To improve your experience completing the Event Pass chapters, we’ve also added a few quality-of-life improvements:
- We’ve made the mission requirements simpler. Now just 1,000 Base XP a day completes all daily missions.
- Weekly missions now require only 2,000 Base XP and can be completed twice a week.
- We’ve also placed the most valuable rewards in the middle of each progression, so even players with limited activity during Update 13.11 can access the best items.
So I guess there was a feeling of throwing out too much at once, I also remember that people were wondering about the last stages of dockyard requirement.
Well with the QoL impros in the event one factor of stress is removed.
I tried that as well yesterday and it's a fun wa of going through my ships

Gratz on the Victoria btw. One day your Commander Cap will have a fish too :)
Hey now, I have had some fun taking that tub of a CV out and catching people absolutely disrespecting it. Few things are more satisfying than the likes of an Alaska captain blowing up in all chat after I carpet bomb his deck for over 13,000 damage in one pass. When its their own darn fault for completely failing to rudder or speed juke a bit to throw off some of the drop. And the fact I sunk him in two passes as he was running from a flank trying to buy time to get a heal off? Just proper target prioritization.
Though yes, seeing a CV play without even deploying a single fighter squadron... there are some completely clueless players in the Audacious. But same can be said for all of the ships that got handed for free. Its simply a heck of a lot more obvious when the sole CV of a team is failing to perform.
