How do you unlock Submarines in World of Warships?

Does anybody know on how unlock Submarines in World of Warships? Just I can't find any useful videos as yet that shows you on how to get them or are them types only for events only?

Grind though the tech tree as normal until you've unlocked the preceding ship, then you can unlock submarines just like you would any other branch of the tech tree.

So for the US line you'd grind out Chester (tier 2 cruiser - first ship you unlock out of all of the US navy ones) to then unlock the "Sampson" destroyer (T2) branch, and follow that tech-tree line until you reach Farragut (T6), at which point you'd branch out to the T6 submarine "Cachalot".

For German line Dresden > V-25 > (...) > Gaede > U-69

UK = Weymouth > Medea > (...) > Icarus > Undine

As above, they are in the techtree and branch off from the destroyer lines at tier 6. They are currently available for USN, GER and UK for the silver techtree ones.

A few of them are also available for coal (U-4501), steel (Gato) or doubloons (S-189, I-56) in the Armoury.
