Wow, clap proudly on your shoulder, that was your good deed for the day.
You may need to connect to support.
After you finish your battle which you reconnected to, you need to close the game, then restart it.
Strange the devs do not care to fix the reconnecting in to the game client for those playing through other platforms (like Steam).
Yeah, if your game crashes or you otherwise have to forcefully shut down the game and restart with the Steam launcher the pointer to create a WG account often reappears/gets highlighted again. Just ignore that, it's a false-positive. Nothing has been unlinked or deleted. Your WG account and the connection with the Steam-made account are perfectly fine and in working order.
I guess WG has not looked further into this since it's only appearing rather rare. Only when the game actually crashes or freezes and has to be shut down. And as far as I can tell only with the Steam launcher as well, which only makes up a small part of the playerbase. And since it's just a faulty display that automatically resets upon the next login, it's likely very low on the priority list.
If they are even really aware of it. I'm not sure whether anyone ever even reported this to WG. Hence the support link further up actually not being a bad idea.
