No regrets at all. This ship has insane gun angles so you basically can angle and most of the time shoot all guns. Just look out for overmatch. Not talking about all the utility it brings. Its hard to remove you from a flank if you play correctly.
Not got Lauria myself - but afaik it's worth hitting the books and learning what specific targets you can SAP-citadel. That will help a ton with ammo selection and maximising damage output.
It looks comparable to Marco Polo (again, not played Lauria myself); so ammo selection and BB fundamentals should be important for both of them: You don't want to be wasting the citadel potential the AP (with its good overmatch) can give you.
The SAP should be particularly good against bow-tanking BBs, as off the top of my head, should be very hard to find deck plates >100mm that might shatter the SAP shells.

You don´t need many hits to do massive dmg and the main advantage is overmatch + SAP for many bow / stern BBs and cruisers even if they are angled.
AP works very well on flat broadsides, too.
It´s stealthy, fast, maneuverable and well armored - perfect mix for me.
Just be careful not to get hit in the exhaust area, as it is easy to get a citadel there.
