2500 doubs compensation is a joke given the value of the ship and the cost even with discounts to get that compensation; dupe commander and mission are pretty low value, I've already got 2x Littorio cosmetic commanders and I won't be using Littorio to grind dockyard missions or battlepass.

Real slap in the face for people who've already done their part supporting the game.

It's not good, but does work out to only about $2 if you were going to get the dubs for the battlepass or something already, so not too terrible either. At least the lootboxes are a better deal this year.

I understand to bring in tech ships as premium, but coal ships? Makes not much sense to me especially if they are that expensive. From time to time you see AL ships but the AL Azuma - just seen it twice, maybe thrice so far.

Well the earlier AL ships were more unique and cheaper, but as always WG got greedy.

The only real unique ships I have seen WG make from one of these anime collabs are the HSF Harekaze I[wiki.wargaming.net] & Harekaze II[wiki.wargaming.net]. They have some hull/gun configurations that aren't possible on any other ship in the game. Most of the rest are just slightly modified reskins or complete reskins.

As far as doubloons compensation "only" being 2500...
consider that for about $12, you're getting a port slot, 10-point commander, and 2500 doubloons comp, if not the ship itself.

2500 doubloons costs $9.90 straight up,...
so yeah, don't think for a moment that WG is generous enough to bleed even half the doubloons of a regular tier 8 premium BB's price for only $10.

They're already doing it. Ship's 80% off. So like Ace said, it's just insulting to those of us that spent $60 or whatever on the ship before.

The new ones are the exact same ship, no modifications to stats at all. At least the first ones WERE different in some way.

Not enough to make a difference though, except Yukikaze. A Montpellier for example plays and feels exactly the same as a Cleveland, despite the few mini-modifications.

And lets not forget that in the first two events you could actually buy the new content in one bundle, you were not forced to either buy smaller packs with older commanders/ships nor were you forced to gamble for the captains(like in the last event)

That however I fully agree with. We can't even get a "only the new ones" package this time around, as far as I can see. Something that had been the case in the past. You can get all three new ones in a ship plus captain bundle at least though. But those trio packages just don't look convincing to me.

All AL ships prior to the event that added AL Azuma(among others) have different stats, albeit slightly, than the original. So they play a bit differently.

After AL Azuma they are just literal copies of other ships.

Yes, you buy a crate and you can only get a commander you don't already have before you start getting dupes. Or you could get a ship.

Yeah it's a bit crap isn't it. Although this is pretty common in many ways - buying games and then them going on sale days later etc.
Specific to WOWs - there's been lots of examples. I bought Perth and then they gave it away for next to nothing on steam and then in the battlepass (or was it outright free?). Similar with Mysore. I own Scharnhorst but they gave out Scharn '43 (OK it's fairly different/arguably better but just a rough example). How many people shelled out for WV'44 last year was it, only for it to be handed out this battlepass? Think there's a few other examples too.
